I can't get ONE single game that goes my way.

Someone explain this to me.

I've got a 3-point captain in her, and every match it's the same [edited] every time. I get 4 or 5 people looking at me and focusing me to hell and gone.

Explain what is going wrong here???

What do I need to make this piece fight well?????

And don't even start with me about the teams... I've been getting ripped to pieces and watching my team literally melt whenever I drive this thing.

Be in the back, not joking. If you're the first person spotted you are target number one.

If you do see that counter go above 3, now is the time to stop shooting and drop off the radar.

Squishy low/mid tier cruisers are perfect XP and Dev Strike piñatas...

The Konigsberg should be played something like a Japanese Destroyer. If you're shooting, you should be pointing away from the enemy and using your speed and maneuvering to keep from being deleted. You have guns with great range, use them at range. Not up close. While the guns are fine up close, your armor isn't.

Later in the game, you can play ambush games with torps and citadel other cruisers. But the beginning, play sniper.

Konigsberg cannot be a steady open-water damage producer. She is squishy, most players know it, and will be focus-fired the majority of the time when out ahead of the rest of your team. Make good use of your detection range on larger maps to avoid being seen. Make use of cover in any game you play. Don't be the first to open fire. Wait for the enemy ships to have fired at your friends, then open up. I play the Konigsberg as a DD killer and long-range HE spammer. Occasionally a cruiser will show you a broadside, allowing you to AP citadel them (very satisfying) but you have to stay out of sight as much as humanly possible to accumulate damage and contribute significantly. Also, consider your torpedo launchers to be interesting conversation pieces, used only rarely, or you will more or less constantly be too close to the enemy to be any good to your team.

Respects,

Am

You can also abuse the 360 degree turrets to present as little a target as possible, and also trust your AP. With its rate of fire and good shell velocity its a pretty comfortable gunnery experience.

I personally have a lot of trouble hitting destroyers with it, or anything that's not a battleship.

Then I *highly* suggest you spend some time in CoOp against bots, refining your aim. You need some practice.

The Konigsberg has some of the best guns in terms of ballistics for shooting at a fast-moving small target. Certainly the very best of all CAs.  Excellent turret rotation, high velocity, very flat arcs.

I do like using it a lot. Even though I suck at it. History is a big contributor to my liking of it. Also, the Karlsruhe sucked so much.

(edited because I accidently hit submit before finishing)

I could record a video if necessary, though I fear I'd be taking over this topic.

I usually follow the DDs till is too late, then I dance and dodge. In the other hand, when it is not yet too late, I hydro, shoot and torp those damn red DDs to death while laughing out really, really loud.

Of course, I drink a lot.

hydro, shoot and torp - misplaced the torp meaning i would torp a dead DD

Konigsberg is best used as an island hugger. Search for a good spot on the mini map where you can cover your broadside from an entire flank and engage on another with cover and use the high angle guns to dump on targets spotted. Make sure you do this with your rear end near the island so you're already in a position to egress away. If someone decides to rush you around the island you have 6x torpedo's per side that can easily delete most any ship at your own tier including BB's if you land all of them.

Overall, it's a ship that you ambush and snipe with for most of the game till you can run free.

And once you get past the Konigsberg you have the Nurnberg basically the same ship as Konigsberg.

With only differences being the AA, rate of fire, and the turrets being centered.

I played this ship at range. Still got  32.8K avg dmg listed on the old girl. This is the ship that made me love the German cruisers. Mind you,
game meta ,has changed some what to when I was ploughing the WOWS sea's in this boat.

Yeah, the turret placement on the Konigsberg and Nurnberg should tell you EXACTLY what direction you need to head while spotted by the enemy. Once pointed the right way you either kite them into your waiting team or whittle them down with and endless rain of lead. Or explode, that's also an option, but I find it to be an unfavorable one.

THIS IS TRUTH

The best armor lay out on the boat faces Aft for this very reason. And this includes the laughable attempts to bow tank anything that isnt a DD gun.
You will still take damage (because IFHE) until the back overhang and superstructure is damage saturated ... but at least you're out of citadel city

Charging in to support your DD's is important and its good that you do so.
However a bit before when you feel you are getting to the point where you will be spotted ...
Turn the ship around and
then throw the engines full speed reverse
Continue to advance towards the enemy, but backwards.

You have more turrets
the torps are right where you need them

you can easily slide into a smoke without over shooting.

the first salvo's incoming almost ALWAYS under shoot you
incoming torps can be beat with ease by simply going from full reverse to Full Speed Ahead. No need to turn and show broad side

If things go bad you are already facing the correct way to retreat < kiting the whole way>.
to the BBs that are just about leaving the spawn

If things go well you can turn your ship back around and advance to the next objective
Wash rinse and repeat.

Nurnberg is the same way .
the only real difference is the guns reload faster and you can swap out one set of torps for actual decent AA with the C hull.

When prepping to engage with K-/N-Berg/Roon, you should be about turning AWAY from the reds as you open up.  You should be turned away and angled when you start firing.  If you're starting to fire head on and THEN do the turn, that's when you get blapped.

Stay back.  If you can hit at the extremities of your range, your chances of dealing with Battleships go up much better as many of them can't reliably hit you at such ranges, especially German BBs.

Also helps to not be the only thing the reds see in the area.

Because of this, K-/N-Berg/Roon are best as support ships behind the DDs and BBs.  Roon is a bit more flexible due to being a bit tough for her tier ("tough" cruiser is relative when it comes to BB shells) and having that really nice hydro.  But K-/N-Berg are so squishy that they're part of the Squishy Cruiser Club headed by Emerald, Danae, Pensacola, New Orleans.  Any glimpse of your sides you briefly give is a window to being multi-citadeled and sent immediately back to port.

Stay at range, maneuver, and keep hammering with the guns.  K-/N-Berg are best kiting.  If sailing straight away they can fire 2/3 of their guns.  If carefully angled away, they can fire off all 3.  But if wildly maneuvering away, they can easily still present 2/3 of their firepower while still being very defensive.  Many Cruisers have poor rear firepower in low thru mid tiers.

Honestly I love this ship. the guns are a beat to have, their ballistics make punching DD's to death relatively easy compared to say the slow velocity American guns. ROF makes correcting your shots easy, triple turrets adds to accuracy and keeping DPM up when bow tanking. Connversely, the rear turrets make kiting away from BB's a dream. Having Hydro also help when hunting DD's, and it lasts really long. My playstyle is I escort DD's, to provide aircover and to punch whatever they detect first. I usually wait for every enemy to fire their shots at teh DD and then unload, then zip to the nearest island. from there I usually will pop out to help the DD in whatever knife fight is usually happening at this point. I've made a career of keeping my DD's alive in this thing. the Armor piercing in this thing makes it straight dangerous to enemy cruisers, you basically can just citadel them with ease. I think my only annoyance in this thing is that the turret rotation can severely lag behind in a turn so while maneuverable, getting into close range high turn knife fights are not great unless you manage to get the torpedoes off first

It is a big of a magnet when you get spotted. Use islands to your advantage. Try to think ahead of the competition. Be unexpected in your maneuvers.

I find it's a bit of feast or famine.
