Let's put it this way: Doujinshi wouldn't exist as we know it.

Because there is exactly no way this can end without a Downfall.

And with a longer, more vicious war?

It will probably involve kicking Japan off the mainland first, and that means being on the receiving end of the biological warfare Japan was doing in China.

Chemical and biological weapons would be used in Downfall, and sometime between the landing ships hitting the shore and the last mountain village being razed to the ground, Japan ceases to exist resistance.

WWII turned out about as good for Japan in the long run as possible given the set pieces in 1939, or even on September 18, 1931 for that matter (the day WWII unofficially started for East Asia). Making it any longer appears to me to be a vague bit of advocacy for genocide unless you're willing to go Drakaverse *CENSORED* Author *CENSORED* Fiat *CENSORED*.

It's good of him to point out that the American victory at Midway was nearly inevitable.  While the Japanese did have superior naval forces at the battle and certainly could have won the naval engagement if things had gone differently, we tend to overlook the fact that Midway Island itself was well garrisoned and fortified, and it's extremely unlikely that Japan's limited amphibious assault forces could have taken the island even if the American fleet were driven off or sunk.  Japan was almost certainly going to lose there.

And even if by some miracle they didn't lose at Midway they were going to lose in the end anyway because they had nowhere near the industrial capacity needed to fight the US, much less the US, China and British Empire simultaneously.  Alternate history is fun, but the odds WW2 could have gone significantly differently (especially in the Pacific) are actually very, very low.

It was ill-advised that Japan even picked a war with the US in the first place.  They were doomed from the start.

Japan winning Midway certainly would have complicated things for the US in the Pacific, and maybe even prolonged the war, but it wouldn't have changed how the war would have ended.  The longer the war goes the worse it gets for Japan.

The Japanese invaded the Aleutian Islands in 1942. NONE came back alive. They never held 1 island or area in WWII that I am aware of once the U.S. went on the attack and targeted what we wanted. ........... Just saying.

*Ahem*

It's only for when you create an account and probably by now all 300 codes have been used anyway.

He did say it was for the first 300 people, so I bet the code was used already.

If Japan hadn’t lost 4 CVs that battle, that would have been much worse in the long run for both countries. Now if that happened and Hitler had made intelligent decisions, we would potentially have lost the war (such as manufacturing heat seeking missiles, building CVs and U-boats, invading the Middle East instead of the failed Operation Barbarossa...).

If your parents, grandparents fought in WW2... They would be dead, or pushed out of society. That's kinda how it works... The Japanese would have pushed, Germanz same, any resistance out of the country.

Or we would have killed each other, like what happens in countries in turmoil... Revolutions and crap, getting deposed sucks. Ruins your Country, thankfully it has never happened to the US. It's ugly when it does tho...

NO.  Just no. WHY would Hitler have invaded the Middle East?  He wanted Russia.  Why?  He was fanatically anti-communist and the most sub-human people (in his mind) were in Russia. You cannot understand Hitler unless you grasp what a fanatical racist he was. He made military decisions based on that pathological trip he was on. By the way...heat seeking ?  What in the hell are you talking about?  Did not appear until the 1950's. Read up on some history. The IDEA was there in the 1940's but the technology came much later.

The allies losing the war?  No....not really even close.

Unfortunately this is what the right wing second amendment supporters in the US fantasize about every day. In their eyes, the second amendment is for treason, not hunting. They look forward to a civil war so that they can shoot and kill our sons and daughters in the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and local police forces, when they, and only them, believe they have gone to far.

O WOW.....

What the heck would Germany having CVs having anything to do with the outcome?
