Premium Request: Japanese Battleship Yamashiro

Fuso is already a fairly well liked tier 6 battleship and something I'd love to see is a premium version of her at the same tier. Yamashiro being almost functionally identical (maybe differences in AA and her 3rd turret faces the opposite direction) her superstructure is entirely different to her sistership. No stupid gimmicks, no major differences, but a premium version of an already liked ship is something I'm sure many will appreciate. I'd especially pay for it.

Yamashiro and Fuso were both sunk during the Battle of Surigao Strait, Yamashiro herself being the flagship at the time, commanded by Admiral Nishimura.

As nice as it would be, I think the IJN tree already has enough premiums that are just clones of existing ships.  They desperately need some unique premiums that stand out from the others and provide something the other ships don't have.

Nah, I think that to combat the large amount of downtiered premiums in the IJN.

We should uptier Yamashiro to T7, and give her an upgraded AA suit with 100mm and "chi" type bofors.

How about we make Ning Hai a new premium for the Pan Asian line? To replace that disaster of a ship we call Huang Hue? 

 

I mean she has Japanese roots, (Kinda like me). And she looks pretty cute~ :3

Well, it IS a clone of an existing ship, but it isn't down tiered, denied.

in the long term it WILL happen. In order to keep this game going for as long as possible WG will use every war ship design they can get a hold of.

Well we have 4 Fletchers, 2 South Dakotas, so what is stopping us from having Ise, Yamashiro and Hyuuga at the same tier? Hyuuga in her CV conversion, Ise in her original configuration and Yamashiro which has her 3rd turret still facing aft. I think it would be cool! I'd buy both Ise and Yamashiro because I love them both.

Except that, of course, they're ridiculously lame, don't appear to sell well (I can't recall the last time I saw a Mutsu, Prinz Eugen, or Ashitaka), and almost always underperform compared to the real deal. Moreover, any ones that do sell just encourage Wargaming to perpetuate lazy design. 

The Fuso refit would be unique; Yamashiro would not. I'd rather see those development and marketing bucks spent on boats we don't have.

I mean those ships are bad... like even Eugen is a copy of an already bad cruiser... so thats not too surprising. The other ships arent even clones theyre down tiers of stock hulls.

 

Duke of York is a good ship (it only seems bad because KGV is actualy OP at her tier). Clones arent bad by themselves. Clones that are artifically bad (like Mutsu, Ashitaka and Eugen) are bad.

 

In particular, clones have a really good RoI for WG... low effort, but they make money. Ive actually considered buying Eugen (even with it being garbage...) The onyl thing keeping me from ultimately buying it is I have 0 interest in KM cruisers. Meanwhile a Fuso that flips the number 3 turret to rotate with the rear 3 turrets? I can get behind that, because it would make it a great ship for kiting.

 

I dont really care if WG coasts by on lazy design for premiums... Im also of the opinion that most premiums shoult be 'meh' anyway, so these ships being clones and being meh is fine with me. So bring on the clones. Give me another Atlanta clone. And a Kongo clone and every other clone under the sun. More ships for me to play is always good. Clone or not.
