Any way to turn off the "killed by" pop-up?

A recent patch added that big pop-up icon and text in the middle of the screen that tells you who sunk your ship. Is there any way to turn that off? Or at least reduce the duration of the display? I'd much rather see what's going on in the battle.

Not as of yet.   Several folks are not liking having the patch show up upon Death...don't bother me because they see mine more often.

vr,

No, other than mods, and you certainly are not the first to complain about it, though you may be the most polite.

It's an odd feature. I know it probably wasn't the dev's intent, but it feels like something that was added to the game with the singular intention of making people get angry.

Yeah, real easy, possible in game also.

Spoiler

Don't get killed.

If I sink you, you get to look at my default patch. I took the mod (see above) within one day. I couldn't remember all the thousands of players and their patches if I tried. If they allowed a clan patch, I would be willing to participate.

It's now been one patch. We need that removed. If players are interested in who killed them, the name is right there on the right-hand side. Don't need a big ugly emblem blocking the action....

For that personal connection to the game I thought the patches were a great idea and it was a shame that WG decided to limit them as Random mode wins only (although yesterday I got a bear in a Credits container for some reason?).

It seems that sometimes WG pick the strangest/worst way to implement some nice ideas.

I'd just be happy if you could click on the patch and instantly remove it from the screen. I don't mind it showing but not as long as it does because it blocks my view of the ongoing battle.

A shotgun to the center of the monitor takes care of it.

Very expensive solution, but it works.

And hope no one else dies quickly right behind you since it is not scrollable or you are in a too light or dark area where it is hard to read, or not playing at anythign higher than 1080 and certainly not 4K.

And here is a previous thread on the subject:
