As far as I know, we lost 0 transport ships, so why didn't we get 5 stars?

 

Is it because i killed all the enemy ships too fast?

I pushed straight into the enemy as they wern't doing a whole lot of damage to me, and killed everything just about as fast as it could spawn. Is this a bad thing?

None of them died. I think what happened, was this. 

 

You know how there is 4 of them? 2 in front and 2 behind? Well the first 2 made it in, and I think as soon as the main ship entered, the game ended. Didn't give time for the last 2 to enter. 

I think it's a bug.

Nope, not a bug. Simply you not completing a mission parameter. All of them have to be in the enemy base when the battle ends. Not half of them.

How is that not a bug? I can't control how fast they go or when the game ends. 

 

Or did the game end early because we killed all enemies?

Games have always ended when you kill all enemies. And it's not a bug, because it's doing exactly what it's programmed to.

lol what? Have you even played missions? A lot of them do not end when all the enemies are dead. In fact, I don't think any of them do, unless that's the main mission.

Says the one who doesn't think "they have to be in the enemy base" means that they have to be in the enemy base. GG. The instructions couldn't be more clear.

It's literally what this thread is about. The objective states that they have to make it to the enemy base. And you're here making threads wondering how you didn't complete that objective when they didn't make it to the enemy base.

No, I'm asking WHY they DIDN'T make it to the base. Like I said, your reading skills are subpar.

Nowhere in there do you ask why the ships didn't make it to the zone. You specifically asked why you didn't get 5 stars, IE, why you failed the objective despite it explaining crystal clear what needs to happen for that objective to complete. And you're talking to me about reading comprehension, you can't even remember what your own thread is about.

Lets try this again....mission is to escort troops ships. 

No troop ships died, but yet 5 stars was not achieved. 

I asked if the mission ended early because Me and a couple others killed all the enemy ships. 

You said all games end when all enemies are dead.  I said no, the game did NOT end when all the enemies died. 

 

So that leaves the point of, WHY did the escort ships NOT enter the base?

Not all operations are programmed that way. For instance, Raptor Rescue will keep going after all enemies are dead until the CV reaches the evac point.

Mission is to escort troop ships INTO THE ENEMY BASE. It's clearly, perfectly legibly written in the objectives. Escort them INTO THE ENEMY BASE. Here, I'll underline it for you.

Again, mission doesn't state 'keep the troop ships alive anywhere on the map'. It specifically states where they have to be. And you talk to me about reading comprehension.

And I'm sorry that I addressed what you actually wrote instead of reading your mind and answering a question you did not ask. My bad, my mind reading abilities are a bit on the fritz today. But since you specifically mention it later, the troop ships didn't make it into the enemy base because they were too slow and the match ended before they could reach it.

Look, computers are dumb, they're stupid. If they were actually smart, they would have accepted that if the troop transports were still alive at match end, they would've happily sailed to the enemy base and all's roses and fairies. But computers are dumb. Apparently, this scenario simply counts how many troop ships are in the enemy base at match end, and passes or fails you on that. Well, now you know.

Dude, just, no. I looked at his screenshots, I read his post, I answered the question he asked and used the information available in the screenshot to do so. I even underlined it.

Seems weird, you'd think that if all the enemy ships were dead, it would default to all transports entering the zone.

Doesn't make sense that you have to fight less effectively to get 5 stars.

Which you did not do. So that's the objective you failed.

 

I did not, correct. But the cruisers on my team did. We had 2-3 cruisers inside the circle escorting at the time of the missions end.

So basically, it sounds as if it IS a bug, and the players have to sandbag killing things just so that the COMPUTER can sail 5 ships into the base instead of just 3.

That's a good idea. I'm leaving at this moment, but later tonight I'll see if I have a replay and watch it myself. If I am correct on what happened, I'll link it up. If I missed a ship or 2 dieing, then I'll correct myself in this thread.

But the cruisers weren't part of the objective, were they. The troop ships were.

Bug = programming that gives an unexpected and unintended result due to a fault in the coding like a typo or a misplaced parenthesis, etc. This is just lazy programming, they didn't think to add a clause that allows troop ships that are still alive to count if the battle ends with no red ships afloat anymore. Human stupidity and lazy programming. But not a bug.

Fun side note: The term 'bug' comes from the time when computers were run by punch cards with holes in them, and an actual bug - as in insect - would plug up a hole so the computer didn't read it properly, and the program didn't do what was intended.

No, but it states to escort the ships, and the cruisers on my team were doing just that.
