HsienYang, Low Point in Asian DD line?

hsien yang wasn't bad though it is bit weaker due to the meta.    it does teach you  how to chungmu though and what to avoid.     hated getting chased down by  khab  lol.

maybe try running the decent speed stock torp over the slow af upgraded torp

 

that made my hsienyang experience much more pleasant

Once you get past the gun issue and realize its a Benson with deep water torps, then you can really play the ship. For me I was stuck on the American lofty shells idea and then realized I can play it with the knowledge I already possessed.  Its a good ship with the right mind set. 

Configure your captain as a gun boat moving forward. More health and gun reload.

stock torp isn't bad, but   with all the radar, you have to be really careful.    10km torps makes it bit easier in that regard and I am used to seamines so  I could live with it.

I enjoyed my time with the Pan Asia DD line. The Anshan helped me get my 3rd Rank 1 season so I had a skilled captain to use on the line. I skipped most of them to get to the Gadjah Mada and Really enjoyed playing it. I suspected I would skip the Hsienyang, I like playing my B Hull Benson and Wasn't looking forward to a C Hull Benson. I now own the Lo Yang and have realized that the only reason to give up a gun is to get Hydro and become a smoked up cap bully. But the moment I decide the Hsienyang wasn't worth my time was when I came around an Island on Islands of Ice and met a Hsienyang while sailing my half beaten up Gadjah Mada. I was shocked when I won that gun duel with a full HP Benson Clone. So when the GM grind was finished I skipped the T8 right to the Fletcher Clone. 

A word of warning about the ChungMu, you really need the upgraded Torps than the upgraded Hull. The ChungMu stock was very painful to play but once upgraded she is a beast. 

I have the YueYang now and it is a blast to play in a match that doesn't have CV spotting your torps and her guns will wreck just about any fool that gets close. But don't use the Radar its a trap that gets Pan Asia DDs sunk.

its fun and rewarding having radar but risky.
