1,662 [CALM] YamatoA150 Beta Testers 6,838 posts 6,088 battles Report post #3 Posted February 2, 2018 My bet (consisting of hopes, dreams, and despair) is the release of the Russian BB line (something WG had mentioned they wished to get out) alongside the USN cruiser line split, in addition to a special Anniversary Event (WG related rather than WoWs related). Probably do that silly and unreleased WoWs April Fools event that had players playing as tanks on an island and defending it from an invasion on all sides. Maybe have a CV player end up playing with an island airbase and land based aircraft. It would closely fit within WG's quarterly line release plan, and have an event Scenario that kind of covers all 3 games in a hilarious sort of way. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The Russian BB line is rumored to be released in the 3Q, so I would not be surprised. The US cruiser split is supposed to be in the first half of 2018, so by the end of June I think. Considering that we have the French BBs supposedly due around March/April (I believe it's March, could be wrong), that leaves April~June for the USN Cruiser split, which likely won't take long to get out given that it's a split rather than a full line. Moreso since it's really just 3 legitimately new ships (Dallas, Helena, and Seattle), and just updating 3 existing ships for their tier and current meta (Cleveland up to T8, Buffalo down to T9, and Worcester remaining at T10), so we could even see it as early as May instead, barring no major balance issues (like what happened with the RN CL line). That leaves the long-rumored VMF BB line, which WG has been on record as stating that informal work has been done off and on on the line (reinforced by the sudden reveal of Okt.Rev. already fully modeled and just needing to be coded into a playable ship after a Japanese game got a form of her out sooner), for a possible August release (or at least, an announcement and early testing). In time for the WG Anniversary (2nd) and Gamescom (25th) as well. It also frees up the remainder of the year for whatever other line they have planned; which could be British DDs or French DDs, depending on which one had more internal interest. Maybe even both if modeling and coding went smoother than expected (esp. since WG has also stated that modeling and coding DDs was the least time-consuming of the individual ship types). Realistically though, I'm expecting it to be the RN DDs, since we have 2-3 of them in the Pan Asian DD line, a trio of RN DD Premiums (Campbeltown, Vampire, and Gallant), and it would wrap up the RN Nation for the time being (until enough of the CV overhaul is done to allow releasing of the RN CV line). French DDs, while not as likely, are also possible if only because WG had one or two of them modeled for the Massachusetts video (which cameo'd Jean Bart too), and it'd give them another speedy DD to be a thorn with in Le Fantasque (I wonder if it'll hit 50kt with Speed Boost). That's including considerations that WG said there wouldn't be any Italian lines likely until 2019. Or an extremely lucky early release with the Italian Cruiser line in time for Christmas, all Red, White, and Green, in place of another DD line. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Exactly. WG wouldn't just throw together an event at the last second. A 20th anniversary event requires a good deal of time to prepare for, particularly any kind of missions or campaigns that would require a coding change for the client and server code.
