Lyon, super OP

We could also try not posting every video and tweet by Flamu unless he comes here and does it himself. He really disrespected Zoup in Youtube comments and the fact that he's allowed to treat a fellow CC in that manner and still have the title isn't a good image.

Flamu is a great player on the other hand, but getting 200k damage in this ship for the average user isn't the expectation.

This is the problem I have with all of Flamu's OP pronouncements. That man seems like he could take an Erie into battle against a Yamato and clean the floor with it on a good day; it doesn't mean the ship has suddenly taken on magic powers. On the one hand, I appreciate the need to put their new ships in the hands of skilled people who can wring them out properly; on the other, I feel that some of them are perhaps a little TOO good, and create an unrealistic impression of what the ships are capable of.

There are days I'd like to see a compilation of Flamu's worst games and most horrific embarrassments.

Yeah, one game and lest we not forget it was vs T5-T7 ships. How will those 340MM guns do vs T8 and T9 ships? 

It is the one French BB I am looking forward to just because 16 guns I mean damn. But I didn't see anything there that couldn't be done by any other T7 BB in competent hands with fewer guns. How many times did he shoot the GC for 3k damage? He only lolpenned it when the other guy finally was broadside.

 Again, good game but I would NOT pay 30,000 gold for it based off that game LOL.

Note - not saying the player wasn't good. I am talking about the capabilities of other T7 BB's vs what I saw from that Lyon.

I really wish people would quit taking the performance shown in these videos as gospel all the time because these youtubers don't usually show you the bad games they have.  I am not dissing them at all and appreciate what they do but anyone can have a good game in a given ship and when they only showcase those good games,  people can often get the wrong impression, often believing a ship is better than it is.  I am linking one of Notsers videos that illustrates what I mean.

About 16 seconds in he says, "The reason I am not sharing a Tier 8 game is because I couldn't get a really great game in it, but I got a really great in the Lyon."  The point is, stop thinking a ship is great because Flambass, Flamu, Notser or whomever posts a great game in it.  They are cherry picking these games to showcase on Youtube while discarding any matches that aren't great.  I am not saying disregard their opinions, I am however saying that these videos aren't necessarily representative of the average performance levels of a ship, they are always representative of the ship performing at its best and that needs to be kept in mind.

If you watch Flambass’s stream, then you’ll see that he can make almost any ship look OP.  He does post great games, and even bad ones. Your point is valid though, maybe more so. It’s not the Lyon per se, it’s Flambass. He even posted a “Myogi is OP” video to prove the point. Regardless, he does like the Lyon and all those guns. But, anyone worth their salt knows you have to actually play it yourself to see if it’s truly OP.  I guess we need to push for more average players as ST’s if we want a true barometer...?

I see you made the same mistake somebody in the comment section of Notser's Lyon video made, Midnightwolf.  When he's talking about, "not using the tier 8", he's referring to the Richelieu. There's context before and after that tidbit you fixated on.  He begins with saying CC's got access to a bunch of the French BBs and that his viewers asked for Lyon and Richelieu content, but he couldn't get a decent match to showcase Richelieu with. What he did get was good footage for "The T7" (Lyon) and "The T9" (Alsace) in the process.

With regards to the op, I guess Gascogne is OP since Aerroon managed a 221.8k match? See how ridiculous that sounds?  It's almost normal and routine for the well skilled cc's and/or lucky instances to have those show case matches for ships that aren't released, outside of premium DDs.

Or you could just unlock it, then buy the premium camo and wind up with exactly the same thing.
