  • Looking to get more competitive with clan battles, ranked battles, etc. Got Bismark, but both my USN and IJN are at tier 6, and I want a tier 7  to work on. Love both (New Mex and Fuso), but which one should I work faster on? Is the Yamato or Montana better for competitive games? Or is it the RN? (Im at tier 5).
  • Also, I know concealment builds are a must-have on the RN battleships, but I have heard that the US also benefits greatly from them. Is it worth the skill points and equipment slot?
  • Similarly to above, obviously Germany is the secondary country, but is the Japanese worth getting manual fire for secondaries? I have heard whispers... (I'm thinking I am going to get 3 tier 4 skills, so  I'll still have AFT and  FP).
  • Is manual fire for aa even worth getting on ANY BB (save maybe Texas)?? I feel like I never see CVs in my good aa ships, and 4 points on a skill used once in 3 games isn't a good trade off.
  • With manual secondaries, if I have a ship on either side of me, I can only shoot at one cant't I? Without it I could shoot both right? Not saying manual secondaries is a downside, but it would be nice to be able to shoot everyone in range, but only get the dispersion boost for the guy you're shooting at. Its gonna kill me some day when I brawl two weak guys at once.
  • I'm sure its way to early to ask, but do we have a general guess as to Italian battleships? (even a year?) Romas playstyle is both unorthodox and fun. Would love to grind a line like that :)

Thanks! Happy sailing!

Montana is better for Clan Battles (at least the meta last season), but ultimately the player is more important than the ship so you can make whatever work.

Concealment is worth is on almost all BBs, especially in competitive play.

No, not worth it.

No, not on Texas either (in fact especially not Texas, all the AA guns are too small to benefit from the skill anyways)

With manual secondaries you can only fire on one target at a time, but you don't really have situations with ships on both sides that often (probably means you already [edited] up)

I don't speculate on such things.

I recommend going up Japanese and German lines but that's just my experience and preferences. Find your own way.

Concealment is optimal. Less seen = less shells coming in.

Secondary for high tier Japanese definitely worth it.

I don't bother with AA builds--many many battles have no enemy Cvs and even if there are you are often not targeted anyway.

I don't use manual as I am often brawling close range and want both secondary sides to shoot and don't want to have to feck with targeting. Add enhanced fire starting captain skills and your secondaries get that too. Captains hate having their ships on fire; yes, even DDs.

Italian ships have mystique--will get every one available, but I am a history nut.

You might want to decide whether you want to tank, brawl or stand off and snipe (pls don't snipe at long range, your team with despise you for it).

It's more about getting on a team in random that pushes caps and getting right in there and supporting it. I love BBs.

I'd take manual secondaries, since it gives the accuracy buff of 60% at t7-10.

1: Unsure, I have a Montana and am working towards the Yamato. As a Corgi Captain I did try the Yamato and found her to be unwieldy, but then I only was able to test her out at certain times. US line gets you North Carolina and Iowa which are both decent. IJN, Amagi is not so bad, Izumo will cause you headaches.

2: as has been said, concealment is always a plus

3: Yes and no. I have seen Nagato and Amagi have decent secondary batteries, but then it goes down hill later. I would say spec for suvival, you are going to be burning.

4: yes and no. As you have said, there aren't many CVs out there. But if you did spec a BB to AA, it would be North Carolina/Iowa. Honestly it's all up to you.

5: While alot of people swear by manual secondaries, I am not one of them. Exspecially in my Bismarck, I end up using the secondaries as a warning of in coming ships. plus with 11km range, you can score some additional damage on other targets that happen to be in your secondary gun arc while your focus is elsewhere.

1) I was initially grinding for the Kurfürst but stopped as I got to Friedrich Der Grosse. For high tier game play now I recommend you grind a ship with better gun handling. The Germans have terrible accuracy and are suffering in performance because of that currently. I am currently grinding for the Yamato and am 3/4 done grinding through the Izumu. I would recommend Montana or Yamato for clan wars.

2) I put concealment on everything no matter what ship class. What can't be seen can't be hit. It will help you with positioning of your ship in battle, and also allow for you to fall back into stealth between salvos greatly reducing the amount of return fire from the enemy.

3) Secondary builds are best on the German line and soon to be French line. I would focus on a tank/survival build for the Yamato or Montana and also spec your build around their gun performance.

4) No it is not worth it. The only nation to invest a little in that is the US line. However if you choose to go down the German line you will spec for the secondaries and that automatically also improves your AA performance. My advice is to spec for survivability.

5) Eventhough manual secondaries skill buffs the accuracy of your secondaries, I also don't use the skill. I believe that your captain points are better spent on other skills which boost your survivability.

6) not sure when they will be released, but if I had to guess Christmas 2018 or Spring 2019.
