I don't ever keep ships in my grind to tier 10, but I think I might just keep that tier 7 French BB with 16 guns, if it is half decent.

1. Not keeping ships makes absolutely no sense.  What if you need a certain type ship at a certain rank for a mission, or ranked, or scenarios?  Port slots are easy to come by.

2. 16 guns at tier 7 just means something else has to be completely woeful.  We talking 60 second reload?  No armor?  It has to balance.

She has a 30 second reload and decent armor. Her dispersion is just a little meh.

So what then do you give up for 16x 340mm at T7?

There is,  it's 16 13.4" guns when most at tier are rocking 15s and 16s.

A little worse dispersion. Her rifles are also smaller.

The ability to punch through BB armor over 10k. Was always Dunq's issue.

Lyon doesn't carry Dunk's guns. Also, there exists HE.

Don't really care about 16 guns, it's a battleship that will burn just like the rest.

9/10 since it's a French ship with multiple forward guns it'll be bow tanking (avoiding surrender jokes)...so it'll be a xp bag of burning.

Four guns forward, odds are they will still bow tank in it. If not they will put off at an angle to bounce AP. Still she will burn like Paris after a Zeppelin raid.

Anyone camping bow-forward with only 1/4 of their firepower available deserves IMO to be taken out back and shot.

Oh I agree with you totally.

Maybe they will rear-end tank? 8 guns in the rear, just turn around...and back into things.

Reminds me of watching a 60 pound Basset hound fighting a cat, the dog figured out her ears were prime targets so she swung in her rear and used it to ram the cat.

Not keeping every ship makes perfect sense.  Not everyone can spend real money on the game to pack their account with ship slots; the credits you recoup from selling ships really speeds up the next tech tree purchase; it's easy enough to keep around one of each type at each tier; and some ships are just poop not all that fun to play.

I sell ships because I need the money. I don't put my own money into the game very often.

Premiums fill that role. I rarely keep elite silver ships not T10 mainly to clear up my port. I think the only non T10 elite ship I have atm is Akizuki and Fletcher. Plus you can buy them back if you really need to.

Not really.

There are many reasons not to keep a ship, the greatest of which is the in game economy when traveling up a line.

The second is not liking a ship. I don't care who you are, if you don't like the ship there is another at that Tier you'll do better in.

Premiums are another good reason. I mean why have the Iowa once I've reached Montan if I have the Missouri?

While I do have both, is there a reason to keep the Pensacola or soon to be the New Orleans once you have Indianapolis?

Why keep the Myoko if you have the Dragon Myoko? Camouflage would be the only reason.

Until credits become no object there is little reason to onto ships, especially when each one will need a brand new Captain trained up on it.

Personally, I think this kills the exicitment for HMS Agincourt, the Battleship with the most guns.

A few simple reasons:

1. I don't play ships without 19 point captains (except when I'm grinding a line). Obviously it's not feasible to keep everylow tier ship and get an experienced captain in all.

2. I play this game to grind all tier Xs. I don't do operations or ranked. I have no need for low tier ships at all.
