Weekend spree

Did a bit more of my grind towards Montana (about 85K ship XP to go) but slowed because scrub teams. Usual silent taters!

 

Brought out Haku for SL for the last time. We faced off against CUTER and simply outclassed a bit; gave them a good fight, but they were more experienced at timing their aggressive pushes while their AS Haku and I kept each other trying to guess the other's next move. I swear, AS Haku is cancer because of how passive it is--it's a lot more fun piling the bombers to bring down a ship, and there's not much damage I can do when 4 fighters and DF and AA-cruisers to get around.

Started up the grind of the German cruiser line again, getting Karlsruhe, Konigsberg, and Nuremberg, and found them all surprisingly agreeable, going 16-10 in them collectively. I still can't make the Neptune work though.

I put on a bunch of high bonus camo and flags and finished playing through the Maass, in order to get the Z-23 during German destroyer weekend when German DDs were on sale!

Oh, wait, you mean it was German cruiser weekend, and I just misread the announcement two weeks ago?  Lol me.

Replace the front shocks on the Taurus and cleaned the junk out of the Downstairs Bathroom for the renovation.

Played a few scenario and Co-Op games. 

Won my only ranked battle, bringing the alt account to rank 18 on Sunday night.  Took all three caps and sunk two ships.  Really had to work for those flags.

Completed the Mahan and set up the Benson on the main account.  Co-Op shows that ship is exceptional.  Need 65K XP to complete the modules.

Moved the 18 point DD captain to the Benson.  Used the 200K credits, and Elite XP for the rest.

Tried to move the Pensacola in Random -- but those S.L.O.W.. stock turrets...    Ugh !!   Co-Op only until they are upgraded.

Decided to give Ranked one more try on Friday.  Only game, our team AFK NC, team got destroyed, did not lose a star, but thought the universe was trying to tell me something - so that was it for ranked.

Sunday was a bit brutal, finished first on my team quite a few times, too bad most of them losses, decided to hang it up for the day, see what tomorrow brings.

I went 1 for 6 on Saturday and then 7 for 8 on Sunday. 

This is my main observation of the weekends: the variability it through the ceiling. You see lots of great play but you also see people pulling the dumbest stunts ever seen in a multiplayer game. The top one for me on Saturday was watching a Fletcher refuse to work caps and instead chase a bb and a cruiser across half the map, salvoing torps at their fleeing [edited]ends. With predictable results. 

On the plus side, I'm like literally one win away from unlocking my third tier 10, the Grozovoi. I really like the Udaloi. Am I in for a pleasant surprise with the Groz? I don't see a lot of people playing it at tier 10.

I'm working 4 tier 9 destroyers at the moment: The Udaloi, the Z-46, the Fletcher, and the Yugumo. I'm going to be seriously strapped for coin soon.  

And the Fletcher is a dream.

I uninstalled on Friday. Played four or five miserable games, and decided that it was time for a break. I’ll come back sometime in February.

oOoh..they got me too!

I thought for sure there would be German DD stuff this weekend, if not the actual German DD they've been hinting at.

Managed to rank out on Saturday, had some fantastic teams that made it really easy last stretch. Played SL against CUTER, got embarrassed, didn't play any more ships after ranking out. I dont feel as burned out after this rank season, but after my amazing to horrible start I just slow played it the whole time. Kind of stings getting wrecked by CUTER that way though, not sure if I'll need a break or not. Playing the crapout of Subnautica though.

Can't tell you how many times I've done that.

And yes, I am still not at all convinced that matchmaking is random.

  Dunno- I didn't play at all.  Had to work/couldn't work up the ambition.

  There's nothing interesting going on right now, and I guess I burned myself out more than I thought with Ranked and all the ships I was grinding...

Friday - high damage but no wins (avg 84K or so) and then on Sunday - averaged a good bit less but had a WR just above 50%.
