WG, Can Next Season of Ranked Battles Be....

.....Tier 9, please?  Now that this season has wrapped up, it concludes another go-around with T8's in this format.  Although T8 ships can be fun and competitive, it just seems like a do-over of the previous T8 seasons.  Since we've also done Ranked in T6 and T7 formats, could the feasibility of a T9 Ranked season be explored?  There are so many interesting ships in that bracket, and it would be great to try it with some new vessels to break up the "same old, same old" monotony.

That's one tier where I think that a lot of people never bother to keep the ships, with very, VERY few exceptions!  Probably the single WORST tier that could be picked for Ranked.  I'd just about rather have tier 1 than tier 9.  I'm serious.  Tier 9 would be the absolutely WORST choice!!!

We're already used to Ranked controversy with Belfast w/radar at T7 and Lo Yang with super hydro at T8.  These types of debates will always appear, regardless of tier chosen.

Tier 9 would be the worst of the worst of the worst!

I prefer Ranked be between tiers 5 and 8.  Tiers where people will likely have saved some ships, and have some premium ships, affordable ones.  It's completely beyond me how people could be so foolish to think that tier 9 would ever be a good tier for Ranked.  It is, quite literally, the worst possible choice.

As interesting as it would be, I don’t think they would do it. They want Ranked to be as inclusive as possible, and T9 is expensive to own and operate, and with the two known exceptions , you can’t just go buy one.

my money is on T6, where the new T-61’s, Cleveland’s and <insert your choice of BB > will rule.

I have suggested this, as well.  T5 gets the worst deal with MM, so a mode that keeps T5 with other T5 would be nice.  Make T5 Great Again!!!

However, Giulio Cesare and the Kamikazes would try to spoil the show.

Good point.  T9 Ranked would be a long shot anyway, as WG wouldn't be able to reap the sales of premium ships like they do at tiers T8 and lower.

Like others, I'd enjoy me some low tier (T4-T5) Ranked gameplay as well.  Pure unadulterated fun, without the complications and annoyances of good hydro and radar.

I don't foresee tier 6 for the next season, though with all the new premiums tier 6 has received, when the next tier 6 season comes, it'll be quite interesting.  I foresee either rank 7 with a small chance of tier 5.  The one downside I see to tier 5 is that I think that we'd see a massive proliferation of Giulio Cesare's.  I don't particularly think that the GC's firepower is all that much better than the other tier 5 BBs.  What sets it apart from everyone other than the Kongo (and her ARP clones) is her speed.

Regardless, I'd actually love to see tier 5 Ranked.  Cruisers might actually have a chance to be useful at that tier.  And I think that we'd see some interesting new Ranked maps.

Let's have a ladder. The low ranks start at Tier 6, Second League moves to Tier 7, First League Tier 8, Premier League Tier 9, and then bonus round League of Wolves stays Tier 10.

This would, however, almost require the bottom rank of each league to be irrevocable.

At T9 you have the FXP ships MO and Musashi, and the Black (reward). Then you have a few good ships (Fletcher, Iowa). A bunch of "OK but the T10 is better" ships (FDG, Donskoi), and then you have several garbage ships (Izumo). The Mo, Musashi and Black are slightly OP. People would scream PTW and they'd be right.

If you want high tier, go T10. If you have T9 chances are you have T10. There are no premiums at T10, and things are pretty equal shipwise. I wouldn't be opposed to T10 Ranked. I don't think it will happen, but it would be interesting IMO.

I don't think that tier 10 ranked would be a good idea.  Nothing against the ships, in this case.  For me, it's more that you already have clan battles for tier 10's.  Let's not do Ranked at tier 10 as well.
