162 puxflacet Members 399 posts 14 battles Report post #1 Posted January 29, 2018 (edited) For a while now I'm regulary replacing textures of game camouflages which i consider especially eye-hurting and I thought that maybe someone could find my replacements useful too. These camos certainly arent suppose to be historical and can not be with the way this mod is handled. They are just more pleasing to my eyes. The upside of this mod is that it is compatibile with every upcoming update because it doesnt handle with any xml file. You will simply take the "content" folder from the old patch folder and place it into new one. Its downside however is that without changing xml file I can only change color orders and shapes within these textures, but these textures have to work with color palletes chosen by WG and have to be tiled, because thats the way how it was done by WG although it is contrary to how naval camo should look like. (check my other thread where i discuss this topic) However i tried to take such patterns, which doesnt make the tiling as obvious and I also tried to remove or suppress those colors, which are way too showy. Here is the first bunch. I will add some more over time... Installation: unrar put "content" folder in "res_mod/0.7.X.X (current version)" in the game directory (C:/Games/World_of_Warships) Enjoy! If they can't be disabled with the Port UI (WG has generally good at this) then I'd check Aslains for a mod that repoints the model/texture resources. Put me in with the vote against the Freedom skin look. Like ChubbyLuver & STINKWEED have said, the skins look awful. Great bonuses... but they look like crap. In game I am able to entirely disable special skins, which simply makes them unavailable to me (which isn't what I want, since I want the bonuses.) I use Aslain's, but I can't seem to find any options to disable/alter just the Freedom one look without blocking all skins. FWIW, I like the simple paint job skins a lot. I do not like the day glow ARP ones, nor the Halloween or Freedom ones. Can't say I'm a huge fan of some of the bright colors or the all yellow, but they're not as glaring and awful as the ARP/H'ween and the Freedom ones. Is there any easy way to just block/change the look of those without giving up the bonuses or screwing around too deep with the game files? They would need changes that repoints to the default model to overwrite. They are the same buffs afterall. Id rather the premium regular camo for the cleve balti and des over the screaming-eagle-merica joke any day. Same with the ovechkin lexington skin which places a hockey rink on the carrier deck??? and the halloween skins as well. hell let me sell these skins for 50% of the value of the premium camo price and i'd still exchange it. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
