To new Battleship players, please know that YOUR ABILITY TO WIN A RANDOM MATCH IS LOCKED IN YOUR GUNS.  Move up a few Km at the VERY beginning of a match to give IMMEDIATE support to the cruisers and destroyers that would keep you safe and win the mach.  Wearing WOKE jeans doesn't help.   I'm triggered.

This also applies to CA/CL CV and DD's. Please to all "Get involved" 20 mins is a short time and the cost to you is the same  alive or dead.

You’re actually the problem, people like you are the problem, and this game would be better off without you.

Nah, I'd rather sail around that big island separating the cap we've already capped and wasn't contested from the rest of the map.  When I get to the other end there should be about 12 minutes left.

This is actually a very large oversimplification of what a battleship needs to do.  While granted a BB should be moving in some direction, there are both times to push and times not to push.  The key to BBs is knowing when and why.  I would also go as far to state that the ability for a BB to win is not locked in its guns at all.  It's locked in its HP hit pool and the ability of the CPT to prioritize the right targets.  While yes the guns can do massive damage, farming HE damage off of other BBs isnt going to win rounds.

I wish tanked damage was counted in WTR to some degree (as opposed to indirectly via win rate) - it might encourage battleship players to get in the fight a little more.

I also wish HE spam was somehow nerfed a bit (maybe fire chance on BB HE down about 25% of their current values?) to encourage more use of AP and making armor facing a more important skill. Low tier players are getting the wrong message, as broadside belt-shatters on HE are giving them a false sense of security.

That's a partial truth, but the over arching truth is that many /bb /////cpt's hang back and do not help at the outset of a match.

The really funny part is that the OP seems to really think anyone actually comes to the forums, other  than us scrubs....:Smile_teethhappy:

As someone who mostly plays a bismark as far as battleships go...

I make it into the cap solo....with the cruisers hiding behind an island trying to line up that perfect trajectory against the BB that isnt even in range yet. when an enemy contests the cap against me the cruisers dont even have a line of sight on them because the island is blocking your close shots but allowing your farther shots to happen due to the height of the island.

Then an enemy DD shows up to the 2 cruisers broadside and torps both of them...then the cruisers complain that the battleship wasnt supportig them.

sorry....im too aggressive a player to sit and wait passively for a dd to show up to torp you behind the island.

the dd is the cat....your cruiser is the mouse and the island is the stereotypical mouse hole...all the dd has to do is show up because he knows exactly where your meta tactics will force you to be.

This cannot be denied.

However, part of the issue is the range of BB guns and the attempt to keep them histrionically accurate.  The problem is that even at max ranges the dispersion is accuracy is fairly poor, but its just good enough to land a round or two and shave a tiny amount off the enemy.  This gives incentive for players to hang back.  They think they are contributing but aren't.  Its not until the top tiers when BBs have great concealment that players realize they can get close, undetected and fire.  But again, even there, players like to hang back.  Of course each respective class has their issues.  From suicide DDs to broadside cruisers.

Zoup, thanks for weighing in, but that is [edited]  BB.s moving in a few Km often makes the difference in a random match.

not helped by the fact that in the low tiers you usually won't be deleted right away as much is you do that. High tiers, though, needs no introduction.

Zoup, thanks for weighing in, but that is bull$hit.  BB.s moving in a few Km often makes the difference in a random match.

I tend to find in a random match 75% of the time, the team that loses is the one that loses all it's DDs first.  Especially if this happens immediately.

Understanding your frustration with BBs right now, but the CA, BB and DD work in unison with each other.  Having BBs alive in the late part of the rounds is far more important than them charging up in the beginning and getting focused down.  A Yammy loses its HP pool real quick on fire constantly.

What most BB drivers fail to realize is that their range is there to overcome their short comings of their slower speeds in comparison to their targets.

Sure at maximum ranges there's potential to hit big. But the closer you are the more likely you are to hit.

The moment a ship decides to run away from a BB sniper the ability of that ship to catch and reacquire is entirely dependent on the team in front of it. The issue is that the BB sitting all the way back on whatever line they're sitting on is that some believe they're the ones forcing the Reds on the back foot; it's more the team playing infront of the BB than the BB itself.

Part of me wishes BB's were hit with a -15% range nerf. BUT were in exchange given a Module that grants a consumable that reverses the -15% Nerf similar to a Spotter Plane without take Spotter off as an additional consumable choice.

I agree Zoup.  Again, thanks for the input, BUT I often find that DD's and CL/CA's are more aggressive early on while BB's are full of entitlement to hang back and watch how the battle sways.
