you would think after the long campaign the yamamoto should require no retraining assigning to yamato?

also would concealment be a good skill to pick?

I have him trained on a generic cruiser build so he can fit right in on the majority of premium and ARP ships.  He's currently manning the zucchini hunting seals.

if you move him to other ships, don't you have to retrain again?

PS. oh premium, ARP ships require no retraining too?

Not if the ship has "premium status" which the ARP ships do or any other IJN ship purchased from the store/techtree (via dubloons)

Probably what I am going to do with Yamamoto as well since I like use my IJN CAs in Ranked due to the fact you ofyennend up with so many DDs that it makes for good hunting and if I get Yamamoto up to 19 points it will be great way to not only do Ranked , but also farm a lot of Elite Captain XP.

Only other option for me would be having him on Yamato, but CAs are far more flexible position for him for me.

I'd probably build Yamamoto as a weird CA/BB hybrid captain. IJN Cruisers have decent base concealment so taking FP over CE if he's planning on splitting time across the ARP ships, other Prems and as a primary BB.

PM, AR, SI, AFT, FP,  MFCSB, CatCon or IFA

CatCon is great because both IJN Cruisers and BBs have access to Catapult Fighters. Chaining Hydro or DF once CatFTR is on CD allows for great AA debuffa in CV matches OR Hydro +  CatFTR for strong Torpedo Spotting.

IFA on the other hand is an interesting skill in itself. It's currently on my Nagato cmdr because I had a spare Lv10. And while it's considered mostly useless for a BB cmdr when those USN CACLs or DDs behind islands are lofting shells in your direction at Mid-Long range it gives you decent time to dodge more portions of the initial salvo and if you're in predictable enough a good deal of the follow ups. Remember unless it's a KM CA running IFHE their 203s can only Pen your superstructure or bow/stern on Yamato or Musashi. When the lead for the Bow and miss the superstructure the amount of IFA alert is actually benefiting you.
