how to manual drop and strafe?

i watched Ichase gaming and he just says press alt 

So i press alt but sometimes when i play and press alt or ctr for the different info the game just makes my cursor disappear. or when i want to ping the map it only pings the middle no matter how i move my mouse

Am i missing something or is this a bug

You can't do it in a Tier 4 or 5 CV.

Manual (or "Alt-") attacks do not become available until tier 6, so you need to wait until you start playing the Independence (or Ryujo).

Once you get a tier six carrier, it’s a good idea to practice strafing and manual dropping in Co-op battles. Take your time practicing and getting comfortable with it before going back into Random battles.

oh it starts at tier 6, i thought it was at tier5, did they change this in the last 6 months

Several months ago they removed it for tiers 4 and 5.
