It's too bad that WG has to implement a turn off button for every little thing they put in the game, but it's the easiest to placate the people who dislike it.

Where's the option:

Badges are stupid because they are 100% fluff and provide no benefit to earning them.

I want clarify something. I voted for being able to turn them on or off, but that doesn't mean entirely. I love badges as a customization/personalization option for our in-game profiles, it's neat to see each individuals badge/patch and how they customized it. It's great for a group of people like a clan to identify themselves outside of the clan tag, and I think it's neat that it shows the badges when you mouse over a player nameplate or when you're spectating an ally. I'd just like to turn off the badge flashing when you're sunk.

Didn't want my bias to be tooooooooo obvious...

Plus, given WGs history, I thought the possibility that they might realize they dun screwed up and reverse it was pretty small, so why bother.

Wish they'd reverse the division window, what an epic fail that turned out to be.

Both fine and smaller. The large one should quickly, say after a few seconds move to one of the corners of the screen while becoming smaller. The ability to dismiss them after they display would be nice too.

I voted to allow an option to enable/disable.  Not because it bothers me... I dont care that much either way... but this seems like the best option to suit everyone.

It would be nice to be able to dismiss it once you have seen who just ended your match.

What amazes me is this was a suggestion by a CC very recently.

It is shocking to see it implemented so fast when everything else takes forever.

Odds are they were already working on this or something very much like this.

Of all the changes WG has been making, this topic has certainly been one of the more polarizing.

I can't believe this change required much in the way of resources on WGs part, but just the same, more maps would've been better I think.

I think that people are making more of this than they should be. I find the Division Window that is constantly in the way of other things on the port screen far more irritating and a roll back of that part of the patch needs to happen and soon.

the patches had sort of a nostalgic era feel to them at first, then I got sunk by a seal with a torp up it's butt (or whatever that is), and immediately categorized it in the same outhouse with the announcer repeating 'the enema has taken the lead.' 'the enema is about to win.' 'the enema is about to win.' the enema has taken the lead.' etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, on and on, repeat, this is obviously some crap we will have in our faces a LOT, forever. oh, yay..... so, rather than let this go, like WG has not, will share with you a story about a patch that actually happened to me.

completed the Porsche factory training for the 911S 2.7 engine rebuild (you know, the smog engine that damn near broke the company, that stud is not actually pulled out, it's not cracked, and not warped either), and received a patch for it. these were considered to be beyond cool, and highly sought after. Porsche NA would not sell them, not even to the techs that completed the course, we were given one, and only one.

they had heavy, thick, iron-on sticky on the back, and the pigment on the front would heat-fade if you got it hot enuff to actually stick, so most of us had them sewn on to our favorite shirts. they did not hold up to washing, ironing, or automotive lubricants well, mine was wearing out fast. I took it to a local embroidery shop, and the show owner made me ten, exact duplicates (ok, forgeries) for $50. that was a lot of $$ at the time.

sewed one on each of my work shirts, a Porsche jacket, and baseball cap. nobody said a word, in over a year. this was back in the day when Porsche brass, execs and Porsche NA brass, execs and factory reps were visiting dealerships regularly. one of them, on a visit, stopped by my bay, and asked me where I got the patch(es) as I had my shirt, jacket and hat on. I told him I had them made off the original, and showed him my worn out original.

he asked nicely if he could take it with him, would return it shortly, and left. I got back to work. exactly 1 hour later the dealer owner called me into his office, and fired me. he explained the guy that borrowed my patch was a Porsche NA VP, and felt I was 'forging' official Porsche Promotional Material. the attorney present explained if I were to remove and return the copied patches, I would not be sued, and would receive a separation check. I removed the patches, provided them with a copy of the purchase receipt for same, and they reimbursed me for the original purchase cost.

I still had the certificate of course completion, and was hired by an indie company within the week, trained two other techs how to rebuild the engines, and purchased patches for each of them, and replaced mine. the new patches had one very small change, so as not to be identical. one of the Porsche NA execs started bringing his cars to us, and the dealer did as well after a year, and both thought it was funny as hell when they saw the patches.

so I have a lot of history with patches. my brother met patches the clown when he was little, and almost passed out from fear. one time, one of my merit badges, which are actually patches, fell off. patches are bad. very bad.

please remove patches from the game. or at least give us the option to never see one again. thank you.

Should add the poll option of: Badges are fine as is, but should have the option to turn them off.  That's the one I would have voted for.

this has nothing to do with "safe spaces" or other such nonsense.

Patches and Badges took development time away from far more important areas of the game.

More and better maps for one, or pushing say the US Cruiser line split ahead faster.

Anything but some useless visual garbage that does nothing to enhance the game.

Just saying there are things I dislike, like Radar and chat ban system, but it is what it is.

I agree 100% with you about maps!

Option 2. I like badges, just not how they are displayed

Same.

I do think there should be options. If you don't want to see them, you don't have to see them. Sizing/placement options would be good too.

Although the only thing I really dislike about the badges is the lack of options. Yes, players will get more options as they complete tasks, but I have this feeling that many either will pick the same options, or not bother period, so you're going to be seeing mostly default badges, which kind of defeats the purpose.

Yep yep.   Had WG devs put out a poll, asking "would you rather have...."    A) patches and insignia  B) Maps    I wonder what the answer would be?

Not a big fan on forcing them in member avatars/profiles. But at least they are not as intrusive as in game.
