No matter what I do to avoid the incoming shells they seem to follow me. Then bang I'm sunk. Getting very frustrating. Anyone have any suggestions to overcome this dry spell. In addition to this there are some very good guides on youtube , on specific boats too, that are worth looking at to help you improve Notser. It may not help your win rate but it makes the experience more fun. If you're like me and you're so old most of your friends don't know how to use computers, then you can always join a clan and div up with clanmates. EDIT: Or, you could do what I did (I mostly play solo) and learn as much as you can about the game mechanics (penetration, armor angling) and watch youtube videos from people like NoZoupForYou, Flamu, Aeroon, iChase, Notser, etc, and improve your gameplay to the point where you can start to have an impact on every game you play, increasing the odds of winning.
