Running Away!

(They have engine boost, so they will be faster on both attack AND retreat).

Of course the only replies are the surrender stereotypes.  From what I've seen a lot of French battleships will be different: unique turret layouts and the like making a lot of the ships in the line play differently which will be cool.  Something that seems like it will be common to them though it their frankly shotgun-like dispersion and low reload times.

Quad turrets, lots of quad turrets. Also looks like they will generally be the fastest or second fastest for their tier. High tiers have long range secondaries, with the T10 having longer range secondaries than GK. However the T10 is shaping up to be a very bad ship.

Someone recently stated it's the tier 10 Mikasa, crap primaries and killer secondaries.

Nobody really knows for now, only thing that is 100% guaranteed, you will read lots of wailing and moaning (some of it genuine) on the forums. Let's w8  and see for the PTS with 7.2/

What @ryuukei8569 said.

Themes don't necessarily hold true across 8 tiers of ships ranging from pre-WWI to post-WWII. Maneuverability being good, ok concealment and speed plus speed boost are themes.

Larger numbers of worse guns is true at T7 and T9, but not so much at T6, T8 or T10 so that's not really a theme. Good secondaries is a theme at high tiers, but not so much at low tiers.

The French gimmick is the Grande Batterie.  Their artillery will be massed to form a single powerful unit to focus fire on specific points.  One volley at a time and they will weaken the enemy line and punch their way through.

They have access to the Speed Boost consumable, I believe, and feature a lot of quad turrets. Some of the later tier ships are like Dunkerque, with all of the firepower mounted ahead of the superstructure.

The special ability of the French battleships will be the ability to switch teams in the middle of the game.....as per the Marine Nationale's history.

Looking at the ships armor profiles with the tech tree mod, these guys are gonna be "high risk, high reward," if I ever saw it.

Bad armor with great secondaries, massed turrets....not sure.

I heard they will have speed boost, German level of secondarie and better fire chance on both guns and secondarie. I heard someone says something like 57% fire chance on their main guns and 12% fire chance on their secondarie (12% is basically Russian cruiser mid tier level of fire chance)

The T10 seems like a cruiser killer. Fast reload, and overmatches 30mm armor of Hindy/Zao. A T10 Graf Spee if you will, with secondaries.

At least they have that ability to run away and fight again in the same match compared to those piece of s--t USN BBs with their super-amazing 21kt speeds.

It's Historical.  Those slow Battlesihps aren't allowed to fight until it's 1941.
