Maybe I am just grumpy old dude, but those colors were sure getting to me.  Swapped some color schemes in camouflage.xml, got Frosty Fir Tree camo looking like this:

Its amazing the things you can do just by editing the colour options.

It looks like a minimalist take on the Restless fire camo now.

yeah -- frosty fir is pretty hideous.  I have a ton of them from various missions and xmas gift creates.  would love to put a better color twist on these things.

FWIW I did something similar, but based it on the permanent camo for the Fletcher.

Here's the colour codes:

        <!--//Ny 2018 scheme 01-->
        <colorScheme>
            <name>color_Ny_2018_01</name>
            <color0>0.047 0.090 0.122 1.000</color0>
            <color1>0.475 0.604 0.686 0.784</color1>
            <color2>0.184 0.212 0.231 0.784</color2>
            <color3>0.004 0.012 0.020 1.000</color3>
        </colorScheme>

I tried similar color scheme first, but found that the way those lines cross each other on larger BB hulls requires something highly bold and in your face.  :etc_red_button:

Not as bad a this Christmas camo I got as a perma-camo during the RU DD split.

It has kind of grown on me, like a mold, but it is ok.

Yeah probably.  Without actually modifying the pattern itself, it's going to be a bit of an odd one.  I didn't check it on many ships.

yeah -- I sometimes wonder if some of these camo skins are being created by colorblind artists

Well, they want them to look cool and not exactly like each other. They also want to have them fit the theme for the time, so I'm sure that is why the Gnevny camo and the Frosty Fir Tree camo are as brightly colored as they are. I didn't mind the school bus camo either, but I can see why some people would.

can someone help me find the file to change?  I cannot locate it.

I need to do something quick since my Frosty Firs are making me seasick!

use the unpacker tool in the modding section, and look for the Camouflage.xml file, you'll need notepad ++ for easier editing

Check this thread out, modding involves a bit of effort.

The file you want to edit is in the root of the directory and is called camouflages.xml
