The January Calendar says:

Flottentorpedoboot? (Yeah, we know we said that back in December...)

It is mid-month and not a peep.

We know Roma and Musashi are coming soon. They have been tested and are somewhat ready.

The Flottentorpedoboot (aka T-61) to my knowledge has been tested and ready for some time. So? When? (I know: SoonTM)

It's currently overpowered, WG didn't release it last month, don't be surprised if they don't release it this month either. They have tons of premium releases lined up, so they can afford to pull this one back and rebalance it to avoid another Kutuzov/Albert situation.

Has that stopped them in the past? Hmm...

And have you seen NoZoupForYou's latest video on the new tier 9 Musashi? WoW has NO problem releasing OP ships.

What's OP about a nerfed Yamato?

Final release date will be known for sure when it shows up in the store.  Till then, you'll have to wait.

(And you people wonder why WG shies away from giving final dates.  Stuff happens.)

It would only be a nerfed Yamato if it were to come out as a T10...what's not OP about a Yamato at T9?

We'll see if Musashi is overpowered when it actually goes live. Zoup's review didn't really touch on the fact that the ship will be a magnet for planes.

No boots allowed in the house right now.

I may be a potato CV player, but a Yamato sized target with Fuso AA is impossible to me to wreck.

It certainly touched on the facts that she gets same HP pool, same armor, and the same main battery. I think WoW releases these OP premium ships to get rid of everyone's excess free XP since they got tired of listening to suggestions which would end up costing them money; now they can MAKE money off them by selling players free XP for doubloons, or cash. My opinion.

What planes?

I suspect WG will either release her unusually close to Roma, or bump her back another week as Roma seems next (not confirmed for NA, but I think for EU and LWM's done a review already). Having to extend the DoY campaign a couple of days might bump her out of the month.

It could be worse, Kidd took a long old time too, and then there's the ongoing saga of the Graf Zeppelin.

I must be imagining the Tier X CVs that I see in about every second or third match that I play when uptiered in my Kii or Alabama. I know that CVs aren't the most common thing, but to pretend like they're a non-factor seems a bit extreme.

At this rate it will be Aigle, T-61, unannounced Pan-Asian Kutuzov clone, random low tier Soviet ship, Massachusetts and then maybe Roma. :cap_like:

Yeah, the 1 out of 5 games you'll see T7s. But there's nothing that you'll overmatch with the 18 inchers that you wouldn't already overmatch with 16 inch guns, so I don't really see the point.

Um.... Tiers 8, 9 and 10 (with the exception of FDG, GK and Hindenburg) all have 32mm bows. Musashi will over-match all of those.

Yes, I'm talking about T7 ships though. There's nothing in T7 that the Musashi will overmatch with her 18 inch guns that wouldn't already be overmatched with 16 inch guns. T8 T9 T10 will be overmatched by her guns, sure, but the Yamato will do a better job of it with better sigma.  If you wanna spend all that free XP on it, by all means, go for it, but I think it's a waste.

The point behind the 18inch guns is there's nothing in either Tier 7 - Tier 10 apart from her big sister, Yamato, that has 14500 Alpha per shot, or the penetration values. In Tier 7 one can still bounce shots by angling, Musashi doesn't even care about that. It's the very power of her guns that people are talking about. Conq's 457s would've been fine in Tier 8. But not Yamato's 460mm guns that chuck 9 shells each weighing as much as your average car. With reload module, AR and a Kraken from Isoroku Yamamoto, she'll have an 18s reload time. The reason why Tier 7s hated Tier 10 previously in the Closed Beta, Beta and Official Release back before the removal of +/- 3 Tier spreads, was because Yamato laughed at their armor, at any sort of angle they could've have taken.

And now those times are back with Musashi. Although I guess she's there to remove the bow-camping meta in Tiers 9 and 8.

I guess, alright. But still, the vast majority of the time, you're going to be against T10s and not T7s.

:Smile_teethhappy: There is a difference between a BB being powerful (it makes the game fun!) and a DD being powerful (it does an amount of damage that would take it off of the bottom of its tier for damage and actually have it mix with the other ship types).

A DD doing good damage on an average level with other ship types is unacceptable - look at the cries against the Khab, and it still does less damage on average than every other type ship in its tier, its only crime is being better than the other DDs in its tier which makes it's survival and WR better.

Seriously, if this 'game' allowed each ship to put out similar amount of damage on average, we all know the bigger ship players would bust a nut! The ability is there, it's just the mechanics are such that the damage averages are different - it would merely be the different play style of each ship that would be different.

Therefore little ships get their highs in this 'war' game by capturing a cap, getting a few torp hits on average and surviving - woo hoo!

(I can't blame WG for this as I truly believe if big ship players were faced with smaller ships handing them their R-ses, there would be a mass mutiny. It makes financial sense for them to play it how it is; can't knock them for making their business as successful/profitable as possible).
