I just had a game on the map Ocean with my Henri and honestly I'm starting to think this map is a too small for T10. I enjoyed the game I had on this map but I felt like I almost had no room to properly manoeuver, especially when speed boost is running.

I had game on this map before but I didn't really noticed it was that small. This map would be great for low tier.

Atlanta.

There were no islands to hide behind.

The problem is that the Henri is a ship specifically designed for open waters. Other ships, such as the USN cruisers, which are highly reliant on terrain, are at a huge disadvantage on this map, and need something to push people into medium range or they'll never get a single shot in for the entire game. So yes, the map is too small for a ship like the Henri. But there needs to be something to nerf your performance to give other ships a chance. And as far as chances go, a slightly smaller map isn't much for a ship like the Atlanta.

Meanwhile New Orleans would probably sacrifice all of it's children just to get one Island to hide behind...

I can just imagine Moksva radar covering almost all cap at this point lol. You go B or pretty much where I was when i took the screen and you can cover all 3 cap. But yeah I guess US CA might have some issue. I was just surprised when I took my Henri and see this. You use speed boost and you almost do the entire map in 20 sec.

H20/20. More enjoyable than Bastion reborn (aka Tear of the Cruiser)

I've started multiple threads on Ocean. Heck, one even suggested they rename it so it felt "new and improved". iirc... I'm seeing ocean about once every two months.

River, Atlanta did not need no stinkin island to hide behind. Nope. You may not recall the "instant islands" every DD carried back then. Smoke. Smoke you could not see into nor out of... ah yes... dd's layed it down every one used it.

It is too small.  Quaffer re-posted his comprehensive thread covering the maps in the game, and included a table with all that maps and their sizes.

It turns out that the largest maps in the game are 42 or 48 km2.  Ocean is only 36 km2.  At the current size, Ocean should be a mid tier map, no higher than tier 6 or 7.

Still 100x better than Tears of the Desert in Standard Battle mode (or Epicenter).

I remember a great game on this map in my Aoba in CBT. Got Kraken before it existed.

And I remember a match with my Akizuki a couple weeks ago...with a bunch of radar and DMs...it was not pretty. :Smile_sad:

It's not too small... Not even Yamato can cover the map from one flank to the other.

Ocean is the BEST map in game no sarcasm intended. It tests all game mechanics. Forces players to play as a team. It should be the tie breaker map for any tournament, clan wars, or other competitive events.

Agreed! and not being fictitious or sarcastic when I say that, makes people actually play the game, no where to hide.

I really liked that map. I probably haven't seen it though in 6 months. Is it tier oriented meaning you have to be at certain for it to come up?

I'd like Ocean if a mountain range were in the center. How about we do that instead?

Agreed. It also proves time and again that radar works just as effective without hiding behind an island. Des Moines consistently getting top score on this map. Again. Teamwork smoke op.

See, that requires teamwork, and for the DDs to actually push forward enough to get Atlanta in range.
