Ocean map-more rotation

This map needs more rotation since many team have no clue how to play it other then camp at the bottom or sides of the map. It seems quite a large segment of players dont know the concept of shoot and move. Increse the rotation or at least bring more maps in with less or lower islands to change things up from camp to shoot and manuever

Yeah.  Personally, I love Ocean.  You have to change your tactic's, since there are no islands to hide behind. :Smile_playing:

Don't really understand this logic. People don't know how to play it, so let's make them play on the map? How about no.

Also, it's not just about people not knowing how to play the map. It's just a bad map from a gameplay standpoint, period.

I miss Ocean, it was fun in the early days when you capped out an enemy base and that didn't end the game and you had to find the missing ships.

Id like to see this at all tiers in the rotation.

Ocean is the only map in the whole game that makes sense. almost all naval battles of the wwi and wwii era were not fought among islands thats what the mtb's were all about.

Sure some battles may have had islands off to one side but never though the fleets Any captain with a lick of sense would not bring his ships in that close. For realism his game is the bottom of the barrel. for playability its only about 50's percent. atlantic fleet makes more sense to me and it has some troubles.

Yep, more ocean WG!!!

Ocean is a good map, but is hard to play. It takes more skill and team work, both of them are lacking for the most of the player base. You dont have Islands to hide and save you from your own mistakes.

They need to change the tiers for it, ships are to accurate and punishing at T9/10. It's a great T5-T8 map in my opinion. I miss playing it regularly

The problem with ocean is if you show up with the wrong ship with no range your basically out of the game. If you knew you were going to be on that map you would not pick an Atlanta.

Horse crap.

It's a great map.  It's the BEST map!  And the fact is that many people don't know how to play it because it's so rarely seen that some newer players may have never played it at all.  It is NOT all that hard to play. But until you've been on it a few times, it'll be as much a mystery how to play it as any other map you've never seen before.

The one big problem with Ocean to me is that it's too small to be a proper high tier map.  It should either be made larger or used as is as a mid tier map.

Probably not.  However, the problem as I see it regarding Ocean is that far too many players abjectly refuse to think outside the box.  They have their own play style and they're going to stick to it, come hell or high water.  They refuse to adapt to a new and different environment.

I think that one can find ways of being useful in an Atlanta on Ocean.  It is a challenge?  Of course and for obvious reasons.  But what you can do is try to hunt DDs, try to support your own DDs who are trying to cap.  And what you probably should do is to keep your guns silent and stay concealed unless you have a good target to shoot at, and only then open up on it.  But when that target's been sunk, etc., go silent and go dark again.  The Atlanta is not a ship you really want to allow the enemy to constantly see and target, so you need to pick your spots.  Engage fast and hard, and try to disappear just as quickly as you showed up in the first place.  Maybe if you're lucky, you can get a DD to smoke you up to help you stay alive so you have time to go dark and disengage from the enemy.  The truth is that the Atlanta is a ship that's really sort of like a huge USN DD, squishy as a DD and has a citadel.  And if you stay spotted for too long, you will get spanked.

If you're really lucky, you may end up in a battle with a carrier and you can be useful acting as an AA  escort cruiser for your BBs.  Maybe not the most exciting thing to do, but on Ocean, it may be the most productive thing you can do, since if the BBs are sniping at each other from long range, you might have a decent chance of staying alive if they have to engage you at the same ranges.  And once the enemy's CV planes are shot down or return to their carrier, you can do dark again and be safe from BB snipers.

The map was all but removed and for GOOD REASON. It was TotD Epicenter level bad and people demanded it's removal.

Oh sure if you were a BB it was great or at least tolerable. Everyone else, not so much,

Ocean is an excellent map. It gives players the opportunity to play naval warfare, as opposed to the rednecks in the bayou bilge water we have foisted on us with all the hide behind the rock jetsam we see in most of the battles.

Get out of your tank and learn to manuever in open water.

You really gonna tell that to someone who spawns in with an Atlanta or something similar?

Ocean...the map that proves realism doesn't always equal good game play.

I don't mind Ocean if I have the right ship picked for it...but some ships really suffer with nowhere to hide.

Ocean used to be more common, and a lot of players complained, moaned, and griped about it.  So WG all but removed it.  Now players are complaining, moaning and griping they want it back.

It is no mystery why WG is in no hurry to do anything about Tears of the Desert, is it?

At least TotD can be fixed. Most people agree that all that needs to be done is to tweak the spawn locations.

ocean is a map where islands dont exist

people that knows how to play cant not use mountains to their advantage

people that cant use mountain love this map, while in reality it just pulls everyone down to the same level as the dumbest player

but i mean, this is the main theme of wows right? pulling everyone down to the lowest common denominator

According to the poll something like 4.5% 20% of the respondents would like to see ocean gone forever.

Sorry, that's more like 4.5% of the responses, that's not the same thing.

Most respondents want it to show up more frequently.

From that I infer that the haters of ocean are an energetic minority.

According to the poll, you didn't even get 100 people to answer in a game with hundreds of thousands of players worldwide.

Something something sample size.

Just exclude Cruisers from playing on it. 6 BBs and 6 DDs vs 6 BBs and 6 DDs. Have fun kids.

yeah your the typical player who has no clue what to do on that map. Its the most realistic map in the game...it needs more rotation to get players to try different things..especially YOU

that pretty much sums it up why we need maps similar to ocean but with far less islands
