@Ghostdog1355

LOL, you asked for it!

Ghost Dog

A parody of "Snowbird" as sung by Anne Murray

Beneath his fuzzy winter coat, so clean
The unborn fleas lie waiting
For his coat to turn to green

The Ghostdog sings the song he always sings
And speaks to me of flowers
That he will pee on in the spring

When he was but a young pup he would mind
Anything that I would tell him
That's the thing that he would do

But now I feel he's lazier than toast
And sleeping near the fire
Is the thing that he does most

Shake your floppy ears and howl away
And take the snow back with you
Where you tracked it in that day

The one I loved forever was untrue
And if I could you know that I would
Howl away with you

The breeze along the river seems to say
That he'll only break the ice again
If we go out and play

So lazy Ghostdog take me with you
When you snore
To that land of gentle dreams
Where the peaceful waters flow

Shake your floppy ears and howl away
And take the snow back with you
Where you tracked it in that day

The one I loved forever was untrue
And if I could you know that I would
Howl away with you

I mess with Snarg about Ann Murray. That song was my mom's favorite.

Captain Snarg. I had Commander Skip play your parody on deck on the DogPound a while ago as we were undergoing training exercises. Dogs were howling and barking approval. I think I might have even seen a tear a tear in Chief Butkuss's eye. From the Captain, officers and crew of the DogPound, thank you sir

Just wondering are you a professional song writer/poem maker?

I wrote a poem for a college course about 20 years ago and never wrote anything else in that genre until a few weeks ago. The first song I parodied was here in the forums. I do have a pretty good vocabulary though.
