Mogami and starting fire

A wee bit surprised....First time out in the Mogami and 55 hits and set only one fire ?!?!?!    Oh well....

Just 55 hits so one fire is below average but not THAT unusual, especially if you were up-tiered in your match as T9 and T10 fire resistance coefficients are pretty high.  Other considerations would be if your captain did not have DE and/or you were not running any fire boosting signals.  Of course, there is always old fashioned RNG to thank as well. 

One for 55 happens in the Mogami, but I have also had some incredible fire starting matches as well.  Don't give up on it.

I have it set up with 155 MM guns and Demo Expert and Inertia Fuse for HE shells

That's the nature of Fires-based ships.  Sometimes you're setting a dozen+ fires.  Sometimes you're setting maybe 3.

The inertia fuse shells reduce starting fires by 5% I believe.  A signal flag will offset part of that.  I just acquired Mogami myself and it has been one of the more entertaining ships I own.  155's all the way.

I re-bought Mogami with 155's just for the funs.  DE and IFHE, along with India X-ray signal, are very helpful.  Stand on the rudder and burn stuff down.

It's a 3% chance reduction.

See this is why American cruisers are amazing... lofty shell arc for plunging fire on BBs and that lovely fire chance against basically everything. I landed 92hits last game in my Baltimore and started 7 fires... ooh it was a good damage game!

Huh, it's almost as if the % chance for a fire is per shell, and it is NOT cumulative but is rolled individually each and every time. WHo would have thought.
