Get Dets out of Ranked

My team just lost a battle, due to not one, but THREE detonations, one right after the other. 3 75% hp and up ships, suddenly gone, 2 BB's and 1 cruiser. Just like that, with zero skill involved, the other team had a 6 to 3 advantage, we had 2 DD's and 1 cruiser, low health, left to fight 6 75% health ships. We lost on points, with 1 ship left vs 2. Our 3 sank 4 of those 6, those 6 sank 2, from when it was 6 on 3. We clearly had the better team, and they knew it as well. They apologized,  even though it wasn't their fault. You don't get to just go "Oh, I'll detonate you!", it doesn't work that way. (The other ships on each team rammed each other. It was the only funny part of the round.)

 

They knew they didn't actually win, they knew RNG gifted it to them. They knew, in spite of the odds and getting effed over RNG, we still damn near pulled it off. If just one of those dets doesn't happen, we win. If none had happened, based on the skill shown, that round would have ended in our favor quickly.

 

See, WG, no-one came out of that round feeling like they won anything.

 

Ranked is supposed to be about teamplay and skill. Detonations negate that. So, why, WG, are they there? RNG shouldn't be determining who wins and loses, teamplay and skill are supposed to be doing that. In that vein, I'm begging you, WG, please disable detonations for Ranked. It's not fun and engaging anyway, especially not when it's screwing your base over in what is supposed to be competitive play.

 

Let US, the PLAYERS, determine who wins and loses. This isn't a casino, random chance shouldn't be involved.

 

**Since people as usual aren't actually reading, let me stress this: I DIDN'T DETONATE. THIS IS NOT ABOUT ME.

Meh.  It's a variable you have to account for every part of the game...one that you do have control over through flags and other means.

They need to keep dets in ranked to have a means of forcing players to burn their JC flags, so there are more dets in randoms to keep the taters happy.

Isn't this about the place in such a post where a doofus sings the praises of det flags and castigates you for not flying them........

Hey genius, I didn't detonate.

 

I'm sick of all these people whining that players need to be using the flag. How does it not occur to you that maybe, just maybe, those players simply don't have them?

Who doesn’t run JC flags in ranked? That’s like leaving your cup in the locker room during a football match. If you take one in the yams, that’s your own fault.

I would be mad at my teammates for coming unprepared, not at WG.

I doubt they cared. I surely wouldn't have. I don't think they should take that out.. It's a very real possibility in real life battle.

And if you don't have them? The playerbase at large isn't just loaded down with signal flags.

I think that's prob incorrect. I have over 1500 of them. They just show up in every other super container I get : /

Screen shots or a replay to prove they were detonations and not devastating strikes would help. As others have said run the detonation flag or if you don't have them run the 70% module. Also if you are planning on competitive play like ranked or CW you should save them up and not use them in randoms.

Sounds to me like some people didn't save their flags for ranked like the rest of us.

Ammo racks have never been removed from any WoT competitive game mode, why would ships be different?

Problem is most of us used our dry flags up in clan battles. Myself in down to under 10. Just thank wargaming, who in their Great wisdom, decided to stack ranked at the end of clan battles, and many of us that put in over 200 battles to reach typhoon.

 

Cut them some slack. Even more so if they have a clan tag that is yellow or better.

Three Detonations..  Chances:  1,000 * 1,000 * 1,000 * Krinzon in match / no flags ==  absolute certainty.

I get plenty of detonations in Co-Op, where they don't bother me as much.  As I never waste flags there.

Was thinking..  Since this is a game, the developers can keep track of when your last det was. 

So if you've gone 1,300 battles with out a det, and you just now run out of flags...   >BOOM<

When not in ranked I only run det flags on DDs because if you don't you get detonated like 1/3 of the time.  All other ships I get detonated pretty rarely,  but often enough that when ranked rolls around I have  plenty of them to use on ALL ships.  Each time It happens you get 10 of them for free.  Add this to all of them you get from crates and missions and that's one of the flags I will probably never run out of.    Playing ranked without a det flag is like playing ranked with no camo...which I see all to often as well.

Everyone defaults to "fly the det flags" but I've never flown one on a BB- 2 of which detonated in a single ranked battle. Seems excessive.

Remember guys every player should run the flag to remove detonations from Ranked but asking for WG to just go ahead and remove the mechanic is stupid unreasonable whining. 

I don't like detonations in any game mode but they have absolutely no place in Ranked.
