Change to Detection symbol in-game

Is it just me or does the game no longer tell you how you've been detected since 0.6.15. It just shows one detection symbol without any mention of whether it is from radar, planes, hydro, or plain line of sight (same symbol for all). Now it's impossible to tell whether you're spotted because of a nearby DD or enemy radar.

No, the line of sight and aircraft detection symbols should look the same. However, the hydro/radar detected symbol is now a exclamation mark inside a triangle.

Same here,  guess they want me to install Mods.  so be it, the new one "detected" indicator is useless

checked with a friend and it's working on their end, going to try reinstalling game to see if that fixes it.

Sure would be nice if they'd less us know when they change something... no mention of this anywhere.

 

Checked with a friend, his are working, so gonna try reinstalling game to see if that fixes it.

I posted about this last night. It isn't that you aren't shown that you are being detected, it's that the detection symbol has totally changed.

Seems to have been a stealth change, I couldn't find any mention of it in the patch notes.  Already said this in another thread, but I did not realize there had been a change made until I tried to smoke up while detected in my Fletcher last night and realized I was still detected, I just thought it was a new proximity detection icon.

So THAT's what that was!  I admit it was a bit confusing that they used the same symbol in 6.14 for both radar and hydro, but I could usually tell which it was by the ships that had been spotted close to me.

I saw this in a game last night, and thought it must have been for proximity spotting because I was pretty close to several enemy ships, but nowhere near 2km close (driving a DD).

Wish they'd announced the change, but maybe I just didn't read the patch notes closely enough.

I don't even think this was mentioned in the patch notes

Yep, just read through the whole thing, no mention of this change. I'm so lucky I saw another thread on this before I started playing yesterday.

My other problem with the notification is that it is so freaking small. I play on a 27" monitor on high resolution, and the thing is smaller than the recycle bin icon on my desktop.

Yeah, this was frustrating because it wasn't communicated in any patch notes.

I'm often getting detected symbol when radar detected, which turns into Radar detected symbol when I smoke... when using a Mod. This often gets me killed because you wouldn't smoke when radar'd - you run.

Funny, whenever I pop radar in my donskoi nearly every dd has smoked up, even before this change. Not sure what they think it accomplishes. Or if it is out of panic.
