HMAS AE1 (originally known as just AE1) was an E-class submarine of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). She was the first submarine to serve in the RAN, and was lost at sea with all hands near East New Britain, Papua New Guinea, on 14 September 1914, after less than seven months in service. Since 1976, 13 search missions have attempted to locate the wreck. The submarine was finally found near the Duke of York Islands in December 2017. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/mystery-solved-as-australian-sub-found-after-103-years/ar-BBH5U8m?li=BBmkt5R&ocid=ientp Edited December 21, 2017 by Chaos_EN2

My grandfather was wounded on Vimy Ridge in 1917 and was lucky enough to be shipped home and survive the war.

They have a WW2 sub at Sea Wolf Park in Galveston and it gives you a totally different perspective of the conditions those guys lived and fought under.
