When is good time to put her in a elite battle like the Christmas one did it and the other ships ate me up so thought maybe I needed to rank her up some first have no clue if so when would be good time . I well say this my aiming needs to get better also it not bad but could be better. Edited December 21, 2017 by destoryer_JA Need to set notifacation

You could consider Clan Wars to be elite battles, but random battles are the usual mode of play. If NM does not have all modules, it is at somewhat of a disadvantage. I practiced aiming in co-op battles. New Mexico is a good boat.

New Mexico cant do ranked this time cuz its t8 only. If you can division up with 1 or 2 ppl, that should help. Pve might be worth a go if its just to boost your confidence and familiarity with her. That will give you a chance to get a feel for the ship's handling, reload times, turret traverse speeds, etc. But as mentioned above, I wouldn't recommend playing more than 1 or 2 Co-op battles (unless you just prefer that style of play), as it will take considerably longer to earn the XP you need to upgrade your new ship and finish retraining/ranking up its captain. Those upgrades make a significant difference in each ship's performance, so you have to understand that until you've built up enough XP and credits to equip them, you are going to be fighting at a disadvantage. You can use Free XP to save time researching them, but Free XP is more difficult to earn back and you'll still need to have enough credits on hand to actually mount the upgrade. The benefit to doing it the "slow" way is that as you learn to compensate for the base level of that ship, you'll do even better once you can max out the upgrades (and have an easier time when you progress to the next ship down the ladder). If you are or will be thinking about your win/lose statistics now or in the future, grinding the upgrades for your ship should be done in co-op. Only after the ship is fully upgraded move into PvP play. Stock ships are at a terrible disadvantage in the game, especially stock carriers fighting fully upgraded ones. It takes longer doing this way but it keeps your PvP stats (the only ones that matter to people) from getting slammed early in your WoWS career. I would also add that never take a carrier with less than a 10 point captain into PvP play. If you take a lesser captain into a match, you will probably be massacred.
