 It did look to me like paying for the ship was a fast easy way to do that Campaign . I was just wondering ( I am not going to buy her myself in any case ) if the doubloon value of the ship ; when you complete the Campaign and get the reward of the Duke ; is worth buying her in the first place ?

If you earn a premium ship over ingame missions and own it already you only get the silver. So nope, not worth it.

I haven't checked the dates, but can you not earn the ship through missions then wins the extra goodies once you have it?. 

Either way, complaining about something not being fair is like me taking for granted my wife, who is 4'9 320lbs. I know some dudes have much less attractive spouses. Do your best, forget the rest!

What was last year?  I don't recall having to be this limited.  Every holliday event I have played with WG has been amazing.  And there are some good things going on for everyone..  These campaigns are very limited outside the Duke ownership,

Fair enough, I meant the actual campaign to earn the ship, that happened last year or you could purchase the Spee immediately.

I remember as this time last year I was in New Zealand and couldn't play for 6 weeks. Still had time to earn the Spee when I got back.

Yeah...  one star at a time..  over.. and over...and over.   For a casual player the holiday season will be over before one could even earn the Duke to START doing the other campaigns.

The problem is that you need a few days of hardcore grinding to get the second campaign done after you unlock the DoY. Which most cannot do. So no second Scharnhorst and DoY camo for most of the players if they didn’t buy the free ship.

I was off my face in opiates last year and I still got the Spee easily.

 

Let's see how long it takes me playing normally to get this one.

Only hard if you try to do every task. If you are speeding through the 2nd campaign for the camos you do the coop tasks. It's really not that bad.

Its not so bad Not having the Dukie. I was able to unlock the final task of mission 1 before I hit my second container. 

I'll be ready to crush Mission 2 when it unlocks. 

And if last year was any measure I'll have that new Shinnyhorse Camo before the New Years Raid ends. 

Doing Campaigns and Rain at the same time as Rank might be a challenge. 

Curse you WG for your Time stealing ways.

I got the New Mexico, La Bagel, and am set to start the Gaede mission.  Took like 20 battles.  I am ashamed to admit the only way I was able to efficiently sink the final mission ship was to ram them.  The other alternatives are to bait steal - camp out loaded up to get the last 5% health shot or just get lucky with how the match sets up.

Should only take 2-3 days of only doing Dork of Yolk missions.

It is essentially the same, the big difference in this year and last is that you could do 99% of the Graf Spee campaign in Co-op. Not sure the grind is worth it for this DoY, I too think it is crap.

I dont understand the hate here.  The campaign is optional.   Don't like the rewards, don't select the missions.  Simple as that.

 

Personally, I think its neat, and the history adds to the fun factor.  I'm not really interested in playing DoY, but if its free for a bit of work, I'm in.

You are right... just the Final Mission of each campaign was PvP only (play a match).  The reason I am remembering now is that someone mentioned that the Krispy Kreme was among the boats of shame.  The tie in - that's the ship I used to do the PvP matches (100% win rate!) and sported the elitist St. Patty's Day green camo.  Luck o the doughnut to yee.

Yeah, I'm not following how you were able to progress past the first task.  For me the only option I see is a mission which requires the DOY.

 

Never mind.  Looking at prior campaign reward is OP, plz nerf.

Last year with the Spee was not like this. If it was then I wouldn't have an instant rage surge like when I think of how WG handled the Hood release.
