Why this is considered gambling, sometimes the RNG spins numbers in the wrong direction.  Everyone wants new "toys", but the stocking may be loaded with coal (in this case mostly camo and flags that I would not normally spend $75 bucks on).

I think you are mistaking averaging 3 ships as opposed to guaranteed to get 3 ships.  It seems most people are indeed getting about 3 ships when they buy the $75 bundle which is probably where the theory got started but just like last year you could get 5 or you could get zero, depending on your luck.

No initially everybody got at least 3 ships if they got the 20 pack of mega crates so the theory was it was guaranteed. That has since been disproven multiple times.

Out of 60 Mega crates, I got 5 ships.  Out of 20 Big crates, I got 3 ships.  I would need to get 40 more Big crates to see if the percentages are similar....but I am not sure the $ is worth the science.

I was aware it was a theory but it did influence my decision on which Crates to go with. The ship percentage in general was quite good on the $5 crates initially but the $3 Crates seem to be doing better now that more people are trying them.

Well, I was going for the Frosty Fir Tree camo anyway ;-)  640 of them should last a while!
