My captain has AFT and Manual Secondary. I initially have secondary armaments mod to increase the range and decrease dispersion, but recently I tried aiming systems mod to help with the dispersion of the mains. This was based on an observation of the secondaries at full 11.4 range not hitting much. I haven’t really noticed much of a big change in the damage output of the main battery, if anything I have gotten one or two more citadels a game. My big question for the masses is: should I go back to a full secondary build? Are the fifty or so extra secondary hits and one or two more fires worth more than one or two extra citadels? Even without a secondary build, your smaller guns can still reach out to over 9km with just basic flags and equipment, which is plenty fine.

The short answer is: it doesn't matter. Your most powerful asset is already built into your ship: A very sound anglo-german armor scheme that guarantees bounces at angles, thick deck that doesn't take a lot of HE damage nor gets set on fire often, reasonably powerful guns with decent penetration, accuracy, traverse and good reload, excellent maneuverability, decent concealment... an excellent front line ship. As long as you can play her into her strengths, it doesn't matter. The long answer is: the secondary mod is better. Both the aiming system mod and the secondary mod applies only minor bonuses, except that the secondary mod has one situational use: pressure pinned enemy battleships. When being placed in a tier 10 match (again), the enemy heavyweights became larger and more sluggish. If you can catch them out of position, your secondaries are more than capable of hitting their targets at their max range. In this case, the secondary mod allows you to stay at a more comfortable range against your adversaries, or just reach more targets in general.
