51% off yearly premium sale - price jacked up?

So there's a 51% off yearly premium sale going on.  When I check it out it shows a regular yearly premium is normally $211.68 and is marked down to $103.31  It also says you get 100 of 3 types of flags as bonuses. 

Problem is if I switch to world of tanks a year premium is $121.58 with no discounts.

 

So something very funky is going on there.  It could be the flags that jacked up the price but it's clearly marked as "BONUS" beside each flag bundle.

 

By the way the prices for me are in Canadian so will be higher than what you may see but clearly something is wrong.

It’s not really a sale on Premium.  It’s just another Whale Bundle.

From the US Side 180 is like 58 bucks and I think the 360 is 103 or 104 dollars.  Add in flags and at at probably 50 or 60 bucks because they are the special dragon flags.  You get around 168-169 in total price and they cut that in half.  It is quite a deal I think.

That would make sense Gcangel82 but they shouldn't make the flags as a bonus then as you are paying for them.  If they're marked as a bonus they it should be a bonus.   It's a hamburger which $4 is on sale for 50% off and you get fries as the bonus. So the total price is then still $3.75 because you're paying for the fries.

 

  

They should have it as a yearly bundle with the flags then (don't say bonus),  currently it looks deceitful in my eyes.

Well, this sale isn't nearly as good as the 50% off price they offered for Shipsgiving back in 2016.  What they have essentially done is bundled all of these dragon flags with the 50% off sale which puts the US price of this bundle down to around $81 when buying the Premium time straight up would cost about $100.  

If you are just looking for Premium time, this new price represents about a 19% discount in buying what you really want to have which is better than the 15% discount they offered during Shipsgiving earlier this year and you get a truck load of pretty neat flags as a bonus.  Even with only an effective 19% savings on the Premium time, you're not likely to get a better deal on this from WG this year.  

If you want both the dragon flags and the year's worth of Premium time then this deal in a no brainer.  

Either way you probably save, just not as much as some of us would like to.

You can technically get the full year premium with out the 300 extra flags for cheaper if you use the current credit card bonus% and buy it with dobuloons. 

If you buy 17741, you'll get a bonus of 2662. Just saying however you are still forking over 73.55$ USD 

With 300 extra flags it's 81.99. 

For me, the 300 good flags is worth the extra 8.50$, but that's just me.

I'm thinking about it.  I could use the flags but ordinarily I wouldn't buy them on their own.  On the other hand, Premium time is something I might open by purse and pay for at a good discount.  I'm just debating whether a 19% discount is deep enough to warrant purchasing or whether I'm willing to limp along without Premium time once what I have expires.  

I think I'm with a lot of other players who took advantage of last year's 50% discount and were hoping that we'd see something similar this year.  So far, no such luck and I'm thinking this bundle is about as good as we are likely to get.

I'm just taking a wild guess, but I think that WG made a decision to never make a huge discount like that again unless it was for All platforms. I can only imagine how many Tank / planes players bought the shipmas discount. 

Having a nice discount with also exclusive content for each game can help WG determine their audiences and sales better.

You must be in Canada with those prices and you seem to be forgetting the value of the flags although I wish they had the Dragon (333% captains experience) in there instead of the free experience one. At the price they are charging for the package it is a good deal.

WoT Console runs a Black Friday 50% discount every year.....this year they only ran it on Friday and not for the whole weekend like they usually do, nor did they advertise it at all like they did before. I think WG doesn't like folks waiting all year to get a year at 1/2 price and is trying to change expectations in their direction. The only way to express disapproval is not to buy.

You don't absolutely need those flags but they make leveling much less painful and they are flags that are not regularly sold.

The irony is that the flags are for  a shortcut on a game you're supposed to want to play ( and just paid for premium time on) Give us money to avoid playing this game...

Having all but 3 techtrees at T10 plus a good number of 19 points captains reduces the value of those flags for me to far less then WG want me to pay for them. Add that I still have 50-120 of them and you see it isn’t a deal for me. Pure premium time has a value since I didn’t have always time to play and premium time+premum ship=2 container within 3-5 games. Using those flags in a game with a crap team=waste of money.

When you're getting into 50 cents a flag/camo territory (and that's just 1 flag! You don't run just 1 flag, right?) That's quite a bit to drop on a single match. I have no idea how people can find value in something like that.

True but new lines will come along and having them will be a benefit. For myself I am still struggling to get a 19 point captain so the package would be a big help and I will pick it up on pay day. While the discount for just the time isn't huge it is still a good deal.

Depends how much and what you play too.

I play 2-4 games a day, 1 of them being a completely decked out grind. That means often 2 containers a day.

I don't value the camos and flags much, because between the (in)frequency with which I play, and the frequency of freebies, I rarely run out of useful things anyway.

In the end, pay for it, or don't.  It looks like they don't want to repeat last year's price for premium, especially when a lot of people bought for all 3 games.

It's their game, they can offer package A bundled with flag M, O, and R if they want.  That is their prerogative.  They are under no obligation to give you the package they sold last year, or the hypothetical package that you think would be the best.

Your prerogative is to buy, or not to buy what is offered.  If it's not a good value for you, that's great.  If it's not, then don't buy it.

 

What you shouldn't do is act like you've been stolen from because you didn't get the deal you expected, and then whine all over the forums about it, like some of you in this thread are doing.

Yeah no one is doing that. Customers are expressing their displeasure about the choices that the vendor is making. Seems a fair way of doing business IMHO. I have said it before, it is Wargaming's game, they can do with it as they please. Who needs players anyways we just seem to get in their way and complain too much..
