How did you chose your clan?

What made you choose the clan you are currently in?

I wanted to be part of, and learn from the best players this game has to offer.

Mostly because Mesrith was an old buddy from WOT years ago. He started up Kraken and a lot of talented peeps from the forum shortly followed and fun ensued with some great laid back guys and gal.

I looked up every clan in the game, put them in a playoff tree format and used a magic 8 ball to advance each head to head match, until I was left with one. But the winning clan rejected my application.

 

In reality, looked at a a bunch of clans in my skill level, read their descriptions, checked out their recruiting threads and finally, asked advice of a couple people that I was playing with that knew the clan scene better than me, giving them what I was looking for. I had 2 recommendations for RUST, which had already caught my eye with the recruitment thread.

I didn't.  Wargaming set up my clan during the beta-testing period and added me into it.

Except they neglected to tell me about it.
Or to inform me that I was the clan leader.
Or to tell me I was supposed to be adding the other CCs and Wiki staff to it.

I had a vicious brawl with another DD that went on forever.  We were both IJN and I ended up prevailing.  We both commented each other in chat and he asked if I wanted to join, so I did.

 

Its a great group of people, wont list em all, but props to @SIR_VENOM_IK, who also streams regularly.

You dont need to learn clan hopping from a clan, you can do that with google

I kinda accidentally wandered into their Teamspeak server after interacting with one of the members in...I want to say it was the Looking for Division channel, way back in late '15 I think. Been with them ever since, and haven't had any inclination to want to join another.

How does that work?

 

Did clans start with the game, cause they were a thing with Tonks. Or is is some arbitrary date you guys came up with?

 

Like anything else in this game it starts when the game makes it so, not when people gather together on a VOIP and decide it's so.

Clan were only fully implemented into the game about a year ago. It came out in the 0.6.0 patch on 18 January 2017.

I saw an announcement here in the forums about a new clan that was started by a retired fire chief who was looking for other prior or active public service professionals to join. As I used to be a paramedic and also wanted to take advantage of the small economic benefits of joining a clan, I thought that this was the clan for me.

Couple of nice guys told me to hop in and bring my Des Moines with me. Been having fun with these guys ever since.
