It used to be you would see lots of top clans and players online playing, but i am seeing them less and less of them in random games. Some of them i would see more in the early hours others late at night, but over the last 3-4 months not so much. Just wondering why. Is it due to clan wars, boredom, burnout or something else? I always enjoyed seeing those folks in game and tried to learn something watching them which i always enjoy watching stuff in real time more than videos.

Clan Wars

Final Exams

Burnout

Look at it this way... now's your chance to try stuff without being punished as easily for it!  A great time to learn :).

Burnout due to clan battles, high tensions caused by internal arguments caused by clan battles, and finals for students. Lots of players are only coming on for clan battles, and then immediately logging off afterwards or only staying for one or two matches.

Out of curiosity, how do you know whos a top player and how do you define it? I mean, I never pay any attention to the names of the players other than when I see the chat go crazy over a youtuber being in the match.

I skipped a few days after finishing my Yamamoto collection... Only takes me 4-6 games on standard account to get my 2 crates for the day. So I'm only on for about an hour and half. I definitely noticed that there are a lot of sub 1500 xp players on as of late.

Depends on the clan.  Some clans can be very chill, easy going, and fun to be a member of (like mine), and that doesn't necessarily mean they're unsuccessful.

I would mostly say its the time of the year lots going on for sure. most clans you see will have a full comp clan and a full casual clan so people can be in a group that works for them.

Competitive play can and will be stressful for teams interested in wins.  However, most of the time I would think most clans are very chill.  Competitive play is not a requirement for everyone.  Those who enjoy casual...get the benefits of oil, but not the yelling from callers in competitive :cap_viking:

I'm still playing regularly.

I was in a top clan in WoT (Different user name) and after making the top 2500 to get an Object 907, I burned out and have barely played the game since. In the last 2 years I've maybe played 10 matches on tanks...

Clans are cancer. I only started mine for the permaflags, we have everything except CV repair now. No one plays CW.

Saw Femm the other evening in her CV..  Been a long time since I had seen her.  On my team this time which I think was a first.  Normally she was nuking me with impunity.  lol.

Was it during her stream time or just a casual game...had her in a casual game once & was relieved she wasn't streaming because I sucked balls that match...lol.

CB's take up a lot of time, especially being around peak hours some nights. Some players also have nothing left to grind, so they play for fun randomly, mostly in a divvy XD

Not sure. But I almost killed her once.. and she took exception to that and focused me every game I saw her in after...  That was a rough time.  lol.

The reduction is explained with 2 reasons: There's a sharp divide in our playerbase, as far as age groupings, we have older gamers, 35+ such as myself, and we have younger players, 25-, with a sprinkling in between. A lot of the players you're missing are back in high school and college, and have been since the end of August, there's your 3 months-ish.

The other reason is grind burnout. The effects of losing, due to reduced economic rewards and perceived "status", combined with the sheer effort and time, for little reward usually, just drains a player. I know, I burn out regularly these days. I play other games when nothing major is going on in WoWs to try and keep my "God, you piss me OFF!" meter down at a level I can live with. So, the younger players are getting educations, burnout affects the older portion of the base more than the younger, except at this time of year, with semester finals. Throw in the CB emotional and mental drain, and, well, yeah.

Most of the missing players, if they havent quit playing, will be back in about a week. Then we have our annual Holiday Hell Week, which actually lasts 2 weeks, and I personally think last year's never ended. :P
