Hello Everyone,

I would like to introduce the Harry De Wolf Arctic/Offshore patrol class.  Made in Canada, the first of the class HMCS Harry DeWolf was finally put together (modular design see below)

This class is modelled off the Norwegian Coast guard Vessel NoCGV Svalbard

The class is modular. She now is fully together after having her bow installed.

Looking forward to her launch 2018!

Looking forward to seeing her in action and having her break ice and provide support in the harsh arctic regions!

As a proud Canadian I'm glad to see this happening. @LittleWhiteMouse how are your thoughts on this?

Still no in-game Haida announcement though. But who knows?

Yes definately, and desperately needed.

The new classes of armed ice breakers being pushed out by the Russians are quite scary.

I was content with the Harry De Wolfe class being armed with the 25mm.

Then I found out the new Project 23550 icebreakers are armed with 75 - 100mm main battery and multiple cruise missile launchers...

With greater ice breaking capabilities then the Harry De Wolfe Class.

None the less, you are right. I am very happy to see this new class of Canadian ships as the arctic will become a hot bed with our warming climates.

It's possible that the plan is to have the icebreakers work in concert with American/Canadian frigates and/or subs. Does the class have any ASW capabilities or Stealth? If not, I would argue that they are not all that useful.

She needs more then a single under caliber deck gun, I can tell you that much. A single one of our Cyclone-class FACs outguns half of your new patrol fleet.

The USN has very few icebreakers.   The Russians have well more than half of the icebreakers in the world.
