The Charge of the Six Potatoes

(with my apologies to Tennyson)

Half a click, half a click,

Half a click onward
Unblemished as fresh tomatoes,
Toward the channel on Two Brothers
Sailed the Six Potatoes.

“Forward, Six Potatoes!
Charge for the cap!
Into the channel of Death
Onward sailed the Six Potatoes.

“Forward, Six Potatoes!”
Was there a ship dismay’d?
Not tho’ the sailor knew
  Some one had blunder’d:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the channel of Death
  Sailed the Six Potatoes.

Red ships to right of them,
Red ships to left of them,
Red ships in front of them
  Guns volley’d and thunder’d;
With AP and HE as well,
Bravely they sailed, thinking themselves swell
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
  Sailed the Six Potatoes.

Red ships to right of them,
Red ships to left of them,
Red ships in front of them
  Guns volley’d and thunder’d;
Storm’d at with shot and shell,
While tuberous heroes fell,
They who'd not fought so well
None Came thro’ the jaws of Death,
None Back from the mouth of Hell,
Not a ship was left of them,
  Left of the Six Potatoes.

When will their newness fade?
Did they regret the wild charge they'd made?
All the good players wonder’d
If they learn'd from the fail,
Learn'd not to sail,
Down the channel at Two Brothers.

I think this is the first or second time I've upvoted anything in here.

Dude's going for a Christmas record of upvotes.  And he's got mine from every one of his poems/carols!    Well done, sir!

To answer the question posed, "No. The six potatoes are still potatoes."
