Regardless if your team will defeat its good to still try and try for the team. Good come backs happen this way. its also good for your stats. A team who thinks they will lose, already lost Edited December 3, 2017 by deresistance

1,848 [ARRGG] CLUCH_CARGO [ARRGG] Members 5,770 posts Report post #9 Posted December 3, 2017 Scuttling a ship was use to prevent your enemy the spoils of war and secrets aboard the ship. This game has ZERO secrets and to deny your ship is to deny your efforts. If Scuttling was introduced in this game I say Punish the captain with a loss of rank, and ship removal from 1 week to 1 month from play. With a credit and exp loss of double the norm.

52 [OPGS] marcmad Members 608 posts 4,038 battles Report post #12 Posted December 3, 2017 If you absolutely don't want to be killed by the enemy, you can torp yourself as a CV or attack an ally, ideally setting flood and fire and have it last until the reflection damage kick in. Both method are detrimental to your team and stupid, they will reward you with a lot of reports.

You think that DDs are 100% essential to winning? I've been in many battles where my team lost all DDs while the reds still had 1 or 2 and it was a win. If losing all of your team's DDs is that disheartening to you, maybe you should just play Co-Op.

Scuttling is the cowards way out and is frowned upon by the Sinksalot Fleet.
1,687 1SneakyDevil Members 3,792 posts 23,987 battles Report post #21 Posted December 3, 2017 I'm in favor of scuttling ONLY if you have to research the ship all over again. So if you scuttle an Iowa then you need to play NC again until you have enough ship XP to research and purchase Iowa again. Other than that I've not issued so many +1's in the same thread in ages. Just to **** up the team? If you can’t handle a game where teamwork is essential then you need to move on and uninstall and play something like the Sims or so... It's nothing as noble as that. It's simply that if you don't want to play your ship, don't press the [edited] battle button. "But I don't like the matchmaking!" Yeah suck it up like everyone else and if you must die without doing actually trying to play just W forward into the red team and atleast soak up some shells and light up some enemies.

If we follow same line of logic, US should have scuttled USS Enterprise (and all other remaining aircraft carriers) after Pear Harbor was bombed.
