Fun tidbit to note, the wreck of the IJN BB Yamashiro was found and identified 2 days ago on the 26th by Paul Allen's exploration team aboard the research ship R/V Petrel.

* Allen's efforts into locating shipwrecks have yield significant results such as the recent finding of the USS Indianapolis in August this year, and the Musashi in March 2015.

I don't recall Fuso and her sister Yamashiro doing anything wrong to the Americans.... If I remember correctly we kept them in reserve for most of the war...

I wouldn't really call it revenge but it was indeed a massacre in terms of the sheer difference in firepower.

6 US BBs, dozens of cruisers including the HMAS, and PT boats rained torpedoes and AP shells of varying calibers which eventually crippled and sunk her.

Hopefully, we can find more shipwrecks from the Battle of Leyte Gulf and Samar, like the Chokai, the Maya, the Atago, and the Chikuma.

The Battleships at Pearl Harbor hadn't done anything wrong to the Japanese, either.  Hence, the "revenge" at Surigao.

Technically, that already happened in Midway

Kind of, but the actual "victims" of Pearl Harbor didn't get a crack at the Japanese at Midway.  But yes, certainly a blow was delivered on their behalf.

Yes. The West Virginia ranged(with radar) her and hit her at 22K yards on the first salvo.
