Beautiful image.  Looking forward to seeing what animation that port will have.

If you post the direct link(I think Image address too?)I believe the editor embeds it on it's own like it happened with your comment.

I was hoping for Kiel or Wilhelmshaven...with U-boats going in and out.

Hopefully more realistic than the London port? Squeezed in between two bridges on the Thames.

You know credit where credit is due you can't deney that the WG staff do do justice for these port and makes them very nice indeed. Though I'm a little surprised at the choice of Hamburg, i was expecting Kiel or Wilhelmshaven, due to their historical ties as home ports for the German Navy but I degress.

That seems cartoonishly colorful. Hamburg is an interesting choice though; I personally think Wilhemshaven would be a better port, but eh, whatever.

Hamburg is to Wilhelmshaven as London is to Rosyth/Portsmouth/Plymouth.

That is what London looks like. I've been there. That port look is very realistic. The Thames is not that wide, you know.

Is this the place where the Hamburger was invented?  Who knows, not even Sherlock Holmes could sort this out.

What I'm saying is that I've heard that its very unlikely a large warship would be moved through there. And the bridges don't look like they can let larger ships pass, like say FDG.

Correct. Large warships couldn't get to the heart of London. The famous London bridge does articulate to let vessels with too high superstructures or masts thru.

I'm pretty sure 'artistic' license is taken with all the ports, come to think of that.

I do believe the story of why the Hamburger got it's name is this ...... An immigrant from Hamburg 'invented' the Hamburger, as we now know it, in the USA and this invention was based on a simpler local specialty sandwich that was sold in Hamburg. Therefore, the name.

Another case solved by Sherlock Aethervox (lol).

Ah yes, the Hamburger Rundstück!  To be frank, I don't think any American would recognize that as a hamburger through.

I think the Danish meatballs Frikadeller more resembles a hamburger.

Note that 'back in those days' in Europe the extras (garnish, gravy & pickles) weren't likely there. It likely was just a Bun/ Bread & lower grade ground whatever). Then some 'deli' owner got the idea to add Garnishes to popularize the lowly 'Burger'. In the presentation above, I'd ditch the bun & add potatoes & onions & sauerkraut (plus a pint of beer).  Gravy & potatoes. Yum!
