I've calculated the doubloon value for these ships using their in-game selling price.

Ships marked ** are currently on sale in Tech Tree and have their current price in parenthesis.

I've listed compensation totals at the bottom of each package for both full value and sale value. (sale value in parenthesis)

Reason for this is the sales announcement isn't entirely clear if you will receive full value or not, so I did both.

*UPDATE*

Have corresponded with a friend who received  full value for Oleg (2,000 db) from the Soviet package, so compensation is for full value.

Also, if you do decide to get one of the bundles it would be beneficial to purchase any tech tree premiums in the package first.

You will get the difference back in doubloons. For example, 1,150 spent on Oleg&slot plus 2000 comp nets you 850 doubloons.

So if purchase the Armada bundle; I get 32.700 dubloons for the ships I already own. Withouten the sale on those ships I alteratie own, it would be 48.300 dubloons.

Still not gonna happen :p I rather save +/- € 450,- than purchase the bundle

btw; thnx for this topic, +1 for you sir!

WG marketing guy needs too be fired.

Most people I think including me have around $100 bucks of free cash. I usually stock up on .45 ammo. Does WG create bundles we can use...nope.  3 or 4 ship bundles makes sense to me and I would spend some of my free cash.

Fire the marketing guy,  because he's and idiot.

It's not the Marketing guy.  This type of thing comes from the top and is very predictable.

There are four stages to a products lifespan.  First is Research, Development and Introduction.  Second is Growth.  Third is Mature and Fourth is Decline.

As I have pointed out several times WOWs is now what is called a "mature" product".  This means that it's time of development and introduction (stage 1) and rapid growth and expansion (stage 2) is over and now the chief focus will be to milk it for as much revenue as possible to recover costs incurred in stage 1 & 2.  Focus shifts from developing and improving the game (although there will still be minor tweaks now and then) to adding content that will generate revenue.  Marketing costs and staff will be trimmed and avenues for free (also called "earned") media and exposure are explored and exploited (Facebook, Social Media, Twitter).  All efforts will now be directed at two things... reducing costs (note the decline in the quality of their customer service department) and generating revenue (more and more premium ships that are actually copies of existing ships with minor tweaks).

This effort seems pretty clearly aimed at an influx of new players from the Steam partnership that won't have the patience or commitment to grind up through the lines and just want to have all the cool ships NOW, NOW, NOW.  Sadly (and I speak from over 40 years of experience) some (I said SOME) Management teams consider existing customers as already captured and not worth the effort.  "New money is the best money" is a mantra I have heard for years.  Ironically, when it suits their purposes, these same clowns (the SOME I referred to) will also point out that 80% of your total revenue comes from 20% of your existing customers, but they usually drag that cliche up as justification just prior to a major Marketing/Sales Department downsizing.

There is no way to predict how long any product will "live" in the mature stage.. it could be years or even decades (a lot of companies have come up with strategies to extend the Mature stage like merging with the competition and creating oligopolies to cut down on consumer choice), but sure as rain in Seattle it will at some point move into the Decline stage.  It happens for every product.  No exceptions.

I've received confirmation that doubloon compensation is full value and have updated OP accordingly.

For what it's worth, single ship sales historically have happened at the end of the year.

In HoTS Blizzard deducts from the total price of the packages for heroes that you already own.  If that principle applied here it might drive some extra sales.
