16 [WOLFO] paulnola Members 55 posts 4,418 battles Report post #1 Posted November 14, 2017 I have read what others have posted but I feel like I am missing something. When I use the spotter plane, I cannot get the way high view it is supposed to give. The first time I used it I got the view for about 5 seconds. I zoomed in to aim and fire, and then never got the view back. Is there a key to do this, or something simple I am missing? Simply launching the plane does not do it. I have the spotter plane on my Kongou. I used it a battle earlier and did not get any higher than normal view. I zoomed in, out, aimed high and low. Nothing I did could get the view. So I took it in a training room and tried everything I could think of to make it work but nothing happened. Other players use them all the time, and I see them in YT videos, so I am pretty sure I am not doing something correctly. Any help and advice is greatly appreciated. Are you running any mods? The game was recently updated, so if you were running mods they may have broken something in game. If so, try running the game in 'safe mode' to see if you can get the spotter planes enhanced sight aiming to work properly. In fact, maybe start off by running the game in safe mode. If you're not running mods, then could you provide a screenshot of what you're seeing, exactly? As in, when your zoomed in, is the game treating it as if you don't have a spotter plane up? If so, I would suggest uninstalling and then reinstalling the game. (I know that sounds like c**p, but if you start the install before you go to bed, you won't have to wait on updates tomorrow.) Just trying to provide some help before one of the true techies come along. Edited November 14, 2017 by AllysaRockz Grammar
16 [WOLFO] paulnola Members 55 posts 4,418 battles Report post #3 Posted November 14, 2017 Run the game in safe mode? How do I do that? Not running any mods. It does seem like the game is acting like I don't have the plane up. I can't get a screenshot tonight but will be able to tomorrow. Thanks for the advice! 110 AllysaRockz Beta Testers 251 posts 1,546 battles Report post #4 Posted November 14, 2017 When you open up the game launcher, click on the little arrow next to Play. It should give you an option like shown here to start the game in 'safe mode'. And no worries! Just trying to help out. I wasn't able to play today, so why not help others out?
16 [WOLFO] paulnola Members 55 posts 4,418 battles Report post #5 Posted November 15, 2017 I tried doing safe mode, but had no change. I also tried another player's advice but still had no luck. I don't want to reinstall the game but may end up trying that :(.
110 AllysaRockz Beta Testers 251 posts 1,546 battles Report post #6 Posted November 15, 2017 Still no techies? Pfft. Well, that would be my last recommendation, reinstalling the game. I feel like you're missing something here, so reinstalling the game would fix that problem if that was the case... if reinstalling doesn't fix the game, IDK what would. Good luck! Man you can pick up good stuff in the forums if you pay attention. I've been playing almost two years and never noticed the little arrow on the play button. Had to close my office door and open the game launcher. Didn't press and play though. Learn something every day.

You can usually control the point of view when using the spotter plane using the mouse scroll, enough scrolling will get you back to "ship" view but with the extended range; it is useful when a convenient (A.K.A broadside) enemy appears closer and you want to aim at the water line.
