Friendly reminder to focus DD's....here is why

Most know this already as they are such strategic targets. but here are two games with the same camo and flags...Neither game is anything special but the credits are interesting to look at. On the game with my loss, I focused dds the whole game, The win, I didn't get many shots at dds....I did cap and defend.....The math/money is all about shooting dd's.

 I see that in your second game you actually did more to gain credits than the first game. So this is kind of odd.

Ya, without posting to many pictures I did 8k damage to dds in the win and 30k damage in the loss.

Factors such as damage, spotting damage, capture and defense points, plane kills will positively affect credit income in a battle.

33k in spotting damage in the low payout game 2k in the high payout game, Additionally the win/low payout game was 8-10tier and the loss was 7-9tier. Nothing in this matrix makes sense except a ridiculous payout for damaging dd's.

Could be wrong, but I believe dmg xp is awarded based on %hp. Ex 10k to a bb is about equal to 1k to a dd. really highlights the absurdity of full penetrations from bbs on dds to some degree.

Just lost a match in part because our strike Lexington didn't focus down the red DDs. He only went after BBs and cruisers to pad his damage, and ended up part of the reason we lost badly. Reminded him to focus the DDs, but he was rude. He couldn't even bother using a DoT approach to make his 4 bomber groups worth something.

That is definitely the way it looks, however in the loss you did manage a dev strike and did more overall damage ...I too am at a loss as to why more in the first game ....just trying to figure it out...Looking through old screenies and found this:

 

Though I don't have the after battle report I do remember that I killed at least 3 DDs in this one....you're making a believer out of me, I will keep a closer eye on the breakdown after this......Hmmmmmmm.........

Focus down the more effective player. I don’t care what class he is in focus on the player getting kills. If nothing else to avoid his fire.

You can have a s--t 30k damage high tier performance, but if that 30k damage was done on DDs, that's good money and XPs.  It's based on the %, so good hits on DDs is hitting the Pinata several times for more candy to fall out.  It's far more rewarding to hit lower max HP ships than it is gargantuan, large HP ships like Battleships.

 

There's also the common theme that the team that loses their DDs first tends to have an uphill battle to win.  If the other team still has stealth DDs, then it gets even worse.

 

You kill off the last Torp DD in the enemy team, let your team know and remind them.  If the BBs are worth anything, they get a lot bolder when they know they don't have to worry about something like a Fujin, Clemson, Fletcher, Shimakaze lurking around anymore.

Aren't there supposed to be DD's with heal coming in soon? This would imply that the pinata can be bashed for a little longer, at least by ships whose salvoes don't insta-delete them.
