I really want the tirpitz one day but I am merely a tier 5 (with one ship and also i dont believe the graf spee counts in my position). Should I reach at least tier 7 or 8 before purchasing it?

Ideally, yes. The gameplay at tier 8 is very different from the gameplay at tier 5. Having a tier 8 of your own before buying Tirpitz will hopefully prepare you a little bit for the meta.

However, this is a guideline more than an actual rule, there is nothing enforcing this in the game.

IDK about right this very minute, but I don't see a problem.

 

Spec it for secondaries and let it fly.

 

It should help you make some coin as well.

 

IDK if it would be better to wait until there is a Black Friday deal this year, or something going down for Christmas. It might be cheaper if you wait.

 

EDIT: Watch the Tubers, Notser, Flamu, iChaseGaming, etc.. to see their vids on the Tirpitz or Bismark. Both are basically the same other than one has torps.

Tirpitz is probably the most forgiving premium in the game.  If you want a high tier premium, the Tirp is the one to get.

I'd recommend a survivability build, especially for players new to the tier / meta. The fire spam is real.

It’s way more than just one guy, unfortunately.

 

Jumping tiers is fine, so long as you realize that doing so isn’t insta-win.  If you haven’t developed the skills for,the gameplay, you might not have much fun.

I would wait, jumping from five to eight could really be a shock. One that leads to lots of losses and frustration.
