We are still talking a lot about radar in my clan, it is fairly obvious it pretty much ruined the game. Please vote, and lets see how many really feel the same.

I know all you trolls will jump on this one, so I won't bother even looking at the banter you ooze from you measly minds, I will only be looking at the poll!

After looking at the poll and voting, I understand its an opinion based poll, and I don't mind seeing other peoples opinions, I'm interested in seeing what discussions stem from this. Personally I don't mind radar, but I do think that it needs to be reworked cause some of it is a bit ridiculous, (looking at the Moskva and its 11km radar)....... But this will be fun to talk about.

I don't think it has ruined the game.  I would like it to be a bit more reasonable with either a slight reduction in range, or maybe curb the magical ability to see through islands.  That said, my Des Moines with almost a full minute of 10km radar is fine with it ;-)

Radar is a tool which gains importance depending on the teamwork.

If you use it in coordination with your team, it can be a game changing tool. If you just use it for yourself it's rather ineffective.

Pretty much.

 

I think the only changed needed at this time is being able to see thru islands with it.  Once they figure out that issue, radar should be fine.

I would say "Your poll and way of thinking is biased, and if you want a real discussion, your topic should have been more open-minded."

 

Just because you disagree doesn't mean you get a full license to insult someone. That kind of nonsense is expected out of little children, not grown adults.

Radar was a logical progression in the game, but I personally don't think it was well thought out before being implemented.  

 

There are many things with spotting mechanics that could/should be tuned.   Radar being able to see through land masses is probably one of the biggest.  I can't recall off the top of my head, but I think Hydro behaves the same way, doesn't it?

 

I know its a game, and the devs can do what they want, but that ability makes radar too strong...imho.

 

If it never changes, it won't affect my playing of the game.  Just have to adapt and overcome.

Fair enough, point withdrawn. However I am sick and tired of complaints like this. "This mechanic is ruining the game and needs to be removed because I don't like it!". It's like detonations, they are not game-breaking, could use adjustments or fine-tuning? Yes. Be removed because you don't like it and can't adapt or are too stubborn to learn how the game works? No.

My emotions got the better of me and I made a post in that emotional state, I will apologize for the wording but not the message. This is a clearly biased poll and should be treated as such.

I may have said no in the poll, but it is biased. The Radar consumable is not game breaking. I don't see what, aside from changing it to line of sight, can change but sure, it can change.

 

I am one of those that has no problem with it in the game. It is a tool for cruisers to influence the map, and the game.

I believe that radar mechanic could be improved to be only effective if between you and the target ship have an unobstructed LOS. That would eliminate the "cruiser hold a strong position behind an island and using radar every cooldown" as it would create a risk-reward scenario (if I play aggressive, I will be rewarded by using effective my consumable) without excluding the consumable completely at the same time.

A good, fair and realistic comment. Keep radar but do some reworking.

I feel like it is fine and does not ruin the overall gameplay. I do however feel that radar should not be able to detect people through islands, as that makes no sense and ruins any incentive for DDs to play aggressively and promotes passive gameplay.

If a ship has radar or hydro should there be a time limit on them?  Are we going for balance with range and time limits and cool downs?  Real radar back in the day had better range and of course no time limits.  The way it stands now to keep the game interesting I get the limits/cool downs as it makes players have to be more creative in their game play.  Can it be better?  Sure but someone will always feel they got the nerf. :Smile_glasses:

If they insist on invisible DD's then every body should have radar effective to range of main guns and no cool down longer than 30 secs.  Yea like that will happen!!!

Radar seeing through LANDMASSES is F*%#@*%$! stupid!  Just change the name from "radar" to superman~vision.  If radar can see through landmasses, then my torps should go through the landmasses!  None of which makes sence, the fact that radar is ALL SEEING is ruining higher tier play!

I have seen some teams with five ships taking turns using it making for almost 5 mins of this crap (game) designed radar.

Radar can NOT SEE THROUGH LAND MASSES!   FIX IT!
