So I've heard the saying "If you haven't been pink, you haven't played enough battles." Well, I finally played enough battles. I got pink from a Langley torp drop gone wrong on a bot destroyer, then I burned the penalty off in my Cleveland. Afterwards, I celebrated by downing a whole Coke.

Anyway, what are your stories about getting and burning off the pink status?

Who cares? It doesn't do anything unless you're intentionally trying to TK people. Just keep playing.

My first and only time being pink came from firing Myoko torpedoes at a battleship engaged in a brawl with an allied ship. I was sure the allied ship would go down before the torpedoes hit the enemy battleship, but he survived on 100hp and crossed in front of my torpedoes, eating them all.

I've turned pink by accident a few times. Just yesterday, I turned pink for torpedoing a bot destroyer in my Isokaze. I only needed a couple hundred points for a crate so thought I'd just play a quick Co-op game. It turned out to be a real comedy of errors. Apparently I was in a part of the map that an allied bot DD was programed to think was its territory. No matter where I sailed, it kept running into me, and I was constantly having to dodge its torpedoes too. Finally, it turned around and started going the other way. There were two enemy bots within 7 km so I let loose torpedo spreads at both of them. Of course, the "allied" bot then makes a 180-degree turn and merrily sails right into my torpedoes. Walla, I'm pink.

Hi everyone, my name is MajorKey, and am a Team Killer. Thank you for inviting me to speak today.

I have been TK free for one month and three days. I can get through most days without killing any of my teammates.  Occasionally, though, I have to call up my sponsor. He gives me kind words of encouragement, and I'm able to work out my problems and aggression without sinking the closest ship to me at spawn.

It's a hard weigh to row, but, every day in every way, I'm getting badder and badder. I'll leave you now with the wise words of my sponsor...

“So long, and thanks for all the fish.”

This has nothing to do with the thread but my great-great grandpa settled in the Choctaw Nation after he came back from the Civil War. His nephew married Jackson McCurtains daughter.

Only time I’ve been pink is after firing a full salvo from Hood while fully zoomed in only to find that a “friendly” Bismarck had crept up alongside me and his superstructure had caught all four 381mm rounds from my aft turrets.  Instant pink for three or four battles.

Lets see...first time was last year during the Halloween mission...yep the brawl with Rasputin, and I torped our BB.

Second was a few months ago when I was grinding the French CAs...I was burning up, tried to take someone with me...and killed our BB..

Last was a couple of weeks ago when I was trying to be a CV guy... my daughter was at my shoulder, asking a crap ton of questions, I let myself ger distracted, and dropped on a red DD...and the two green DDs knife fighting with him... Didn't sink either one, but pink for 10 games...stayed up till 1:00 am playing co-op with my Emden till I wasn't pink anymore.

Used to look down my nose at pink's 'till I was one. Used to scream and curse 'AFK's till I lost my connection a few times in the middle of a battle. A lot more understanding now that I've been there a few times. Accidents happen! Sh*t happens! Play On!

man respawning with your current knowledge would be awesome.

it would suck being thought-conscious in an infant body though, tbh.

If you have not been pink at least 2-3 rimes after playing over 3,000 you are not fighting. It happens. It's no big deal.  I usually have at least 1 pinko in damn near every match.  So what?  By FAR...most of those are accidental. By far....yup

Was playing my first battle of the day in Co Op and wasn't reaaaaaally paying attention to what was in front of me... I torpedoed a BB in my Danae and a friendly BB went to ram him with 13k hp. They didn't get the ram, I didn't get the right kill, and I turned pink. Fun times! Not only did I ruin my time but I ruined a perfectly smart ram to...

However, turning pink helped me find the purpose of the greatest ship to ever be introduced into this game... the ALBANY! Why? Well, I didn't want to play a T1 ship because that's the definition of boring. So I played the ship that I never play because I never have a reason to play it at all. I guess the best part is that I did more damage in this T2 boat than most people manage at T6, including myself at times... :Smile_teethhappy:

So what's the purpose of the Albany? To deal with a TK penalty, of course! Case closed.

Was around the 4000(+/-200) battles mark when it happened.

Was in my Izumo and I noticed an Atlanta on my team getting hammered by a couple of cruisers. In my head I'm thinking I'll charge in like a conquering hero and save the poor little guy. He was down to less than 5000 hit points. I fired at the NO firing at him but the shell clipped the top part of his ship and he was down low enough that it killed him. I didnt even see when he got hit as I was zoomed in and couldnt see the Atlanta at all. Paid my debt off playing low tier co-op battles. :Smile_playing:

So far the only time I've been pink. A few close calls with torps though.

I've oftentimes considered this and ask myself what I would do differently if I could live my life over with prescience. Of course, most say that they would to big things, like buy Microsoft or Google at the IPO, warn the government about 9/11 or get rid of property and stock before the crash, etc. However, sometimes it's a single minor decision that sets us on a lifetime path.

I can look back now and see multiple events that have chained together, none of which would have occurred had I made another choice early on. I've turned out pretty well. I've obtained a handful of degrees, have traveled quite a bit, read thousands of books, am fairly well-off if not per se filthy rich, have had experiences that many only get to live vicariously through games and movies, and have the freedom to pretty much do anything I want. I'm not sure that I could have chosen a better path in life in regards to my personal growth and development, even though it was oftentimes steep and rocky and so difficult at times that I'd be hesitant to walk it again.

"The pathway to salvation is as narrow and as difficult to walk as a razor's edge." A Tibetan monk, paraphrasing the Upanishads, in the 1984 movie based on Somerset Maugham's The Razor's Edge.

Thing is...everyone in the game will have been pink at one point or another, then WG will have to come up with another color that would seem to matter to them. As for the player base, it seems now that no one cares whether or not you are pink or some other color, to the player base it just seems to be part of the game, no one notices or cares.

Sometimes the reasons players turn pink is just stupid, I've personally been pink twice, the first time I deserved it, earned it through callous torping and then attempting to support other team members through long range arty support, ended up killing one of my own, fine, turned pink, my bad.  The second time however was just stupid, it had occurred over a very long period of time through crashes into other team members, side swipes etc., when I turned pink it was because they were not paying attention and were about to ram me, I turned to avoid them, ended up scraping them, they had no health points left and they died, I turned pink, stupid, just plain stupid!

Though everyone swears that a ship can't die from a friendly ram, I had an allied ship that was on fire with one hitpoint left run into me and explode. Perhaps the fire killed it the same time it damaged itself by running into me so I got credit for the kill. Whatever happened, I turned pink.

Most* times I've gone pink has been by accident (someone runs in front of a torp drop). I do admit to being a  sometime [edited] torper where it was my fault for a TK but that was early in my WoWS voyaging.

* I will go after those few juvenile & turd players who intentionally start to do team damage. I will give as good as I get & if I go pink, well, it does go away. & I do report these juvenile intentional team damager clowns to CS (which everyone should do).
