285 [WOLF6] wtfovr Members 776 posts 5,900 battles Report post #6 Posted October 28, 2017 (edited) We got a video board update in flag plot in 2003 to support a flag staff aboard my ship. they tore out all the old legacy consoles and installed a 16 screen video monitor board 4 wide x 4 tall. It took up the entire wall of the room. the screen could show one screen spread across all 16 screens, 4 screens across 4 2x2 screens, or 16 individual screens or any combination thereof. Normally it was split in to 4 screens and it would show the situation board ashore in iraq, along with operations ongoing in the Arabian gulf, etc. one time I stopped in flag plot during the mid watch (I.e. 2am). The junior staff officers had coopted the video board to plug in their ps2s and Xboxes and were playing 4 consoles on the 4 2x2 video boards instead of monitoring the the normal stuff... it was a nightly thing I found out...
