So, I was scrolling through my Kiev's stats (just got the B-hull, everything else is stock), and I noticed I had a secondary gun. I looked at the stats, and started dying of laughter:

Yeah, my Kiev's got 6.3 km ranged secondaries.

It literally can start shooting up enemy ships before I can even torpedo them, because I still have the good-old 4 km cyka-blyat-Rush-B! fish sitting in my tubes.

I almost want to get MFC for secondaries, just to play around with it!

I'm pretty sure it can get to 6.6 with the flag. Unless my memory fails, I haven't played Kiev in a while.

Have you considered the secondary modules, AFT and Manual secondaries!?  You'll be the terror of the seas!  Torpedoes are overrated anyway!:Smile_playing:

It gets some hits pretty often too. =) Kiev's defense when you get too close to other DDs.  The torps are for defense against big things that get too close.

AFT + ManSeconds?

I've already got AFT on, plus a small buff given by the main gun accuracy module. If I swap that out for the secondary module and mount flags, it should get me to around 7.6 km... Which is like 200m short of my detection radius XD

I have gotten a Close Quarter Expert in mine with 12 hits on a low HP German DD. I run IF HE so that might have helped.

Your thread title is the answer. The question, of course, is "How do you know that you're driving a Russian DD?"

Funny thing is this is totally true.

Russianbias confirmed! Kiev 2ndaries most accurate in game.

Do all Russian DDs have secondaries?

Only Kiev B Hull.

I wish the 76mm AA would work as 2ndaries, then it'd be

Izyaslav: 1*76mm

Gnevny: 2*76mm

Minsk: 3*76mm

Tashkent A Hull: 1* twin 76mm

Ognevoi: 1* twin 76mm

Gremy: 2* 76mm

Orlan: 2* 76mm

Bogatyr A Hull/Oleg actually already gets 12* 75mm 2ndaries.

Svetlana: 9*76mm

Aurora: 6*76mm

Murmansk: 6*76mm

Oct Rev: 3* twin 76mm, 6*76mm

I never even thought of Destroyers having secondaries in game. So never really paid attention to them. Or looked out for them to notice them. Either way, this is something good to know.

Its cuz the Kiev secondary gun is quite a lot smaller than the main guns, and this game doesn't let you mix shell size.

I cant even imagine much of a b*tch slap across the face would it be to get killed by Kievs sole secondary gun.

all it would take is that one guy getting too close at the wrong time.  i have gotten so many odd secondary kills since i have been playing.  just takes some luck and rng.

Here, a twist. If your secondary guns fire within smoke; Does it activate the detection trigger just as with main guns?

Also, how effective are they? is it just pew pew for visual fun, or an actual damage worth investing the scarce captain skill points on?
