Hopefully this is a marketing blunder on WG's part, but read this as "can reset commanders by spending some elite XP."

Never seen elite XP discount before.

not totally sure what your getting at, but I would say it seems fair if you offer a doubloon discount to offer an elite exp discount as well. hopefully this means they will both be discounted at the same time in the future.

Ye, you don't actually have to spend gold to respect captains, just like you don't have to spend gold on premium consumables.

It's usually 10,000 free captain XP per assigned skill point (so maximum 190,000 for a full 19pt captain with all skill points used).

The deal is legit.

I haven't used Doubloons for a captain respec in a while.

You can complete retraining to a new ship with it too.

The Elite Captain XP Pool is one of the handiest things ever introduced to this game.  Once you get a 19-point captain that is played regularly, there is no need to spend doubloons on captain issues anymore.

I think the discount is for changing Elite XP into Free XP with doubloons. Not sure why you would do this, unless you really, really need FXP for something good. I got 30k Elite Cmdr XP in the 1st Halloween mission and I plan on saving it for now as I don't have a 19pt Cpt yet. (13 is my current highest)

*whistle* I never knew elite XP could be used for resetting a captain.

So the discount is actually there. First time seeing it and only knew it usable for training up new captains or training captain to a new ship.

Ooh! this could prove useful! Thanks for the heads up.

Speaking of discounts. Does anyone any idea as to when the XP conversion with doubloons discount will come in?

I keep learning things, spent the first 3 months I was playing thinking you could only use Doubloons for the Damage Control Party II and Damage Repair Party II etc...

I wish it was only 3 months I believed that.
