Three times now in the current scenario, the CV driver has just sailed into the Filth and let himself die there without launching a single plane or using any of his special abilities. It's almost as if these people are intentionally throwing the game. They are not AFK because they have moved their ship. It's almost as if, having played the scenario and found it too difficult, they just join a game and throw it so that others won't win either.

Please people, if you are going to play this scenario then put a bit of effort into it. This is especially true of the CV driver, whose special abilities are the key to success. The universal heal is nice but the really necessary ability is the one that stops the enemy ships' engines. Without this, the team soon finds itself overrun.

Only played twice, and I don't think the CV has used the disable yet.

I have a feeling that CV players who are used to parking their ship will have issues here....

Sounds like anti-CV griefers to me.

"I don't like CVs, they are teh suxors!  I'll show these people!"  *queues up in Nobilium and sails into filth and dies*

I was such an idiot during my first attempt at the new scenario today.

I was doing great. Team knew exactly what to do for the most part. We were probably 70% through when I heard the trash truck.

Crap! I forgot to take out the trash.

What do I do? I freaking hit escape and rush the trash out.

I come back to a sinking ship. Boy, am I foolish.

Came in third and got three stars.

Real life is annoying.

had 2 CVs who had no idea what they were doing last night in back to back games.  One, after he sailed to where they spawn and died, asked how to launch planes.  The other stayed near where they spawned, and died pretty early.

This whole event is just WG's way of Trick-or-Treating its players.

And the more I play the more Tricked I feel.

I've also seen the griefers in this stupid event.

The odd part is, LOTS of people seem to be wanting to play the CV... Like,  I was seeing upwards of 25 CVs in the queue at one time! It made no sense to me at all... and the worst part is most of the CVs I got on my team had absolutely no idea what the hell they were doing... I ended up divisioning up with some clan mates and doing it that way. Got 4 stars max because we couldn't save the second tower in time... That eclipse power really is the most important ability of all of the ships. If its not used correctly, or at all, you'll lose.

I'm not a CV player, but the more I read, the less I'm shy about giving Nobilium a try.

Compared to many, how bad could I be? :Smile_teethhappy:

Also, what's the range on eclipse?

I just played the CV and came in first on my team in kills. I asked everyone to use their special abilities at the first but never saw a single heal circle around a BB or a single cruiser suddenly gain health using its amazing rapid reload and regeneration ability. I tried to keep the horde slowed and heal my team but soon my consumables were gone and everyone else died. Finally, the horde got the last tower as I couldn't stop them alone with just planes. I've had a couple of good teams and have gotten three stars twice but also have had about five failures now too. Since I don't have a division and have to rely on random players, I think I might stop playing this until people learn more about the scenario.

Don't give up! I dunno what you think of it, but I know that for me, 660k damage and a one-star earned as much as a decent normal T8 game for me, plus a camo or two.

So much better than the T3 op, where I actually lost credits a couple times lol.

:Smile_playing: No, just trick.

Same - CV's and DD's just yoloing into the filth and dying, most doing no damage.

How hard is it to at least read the special abilities, mount them, and help your team?

As others are saying BB's not putting out heal circles - which leads me to think most of them aren't even mounting modules or the ship upgrades - they just want to be carried to 4 stars or better.

Wouldn't be surprised; that or like other have implied; drivers who suddenly have a CV in their port, and decide to take it out...

every enemy ship on the map stops attacking, moving, whatever.  and the heal the CV gets only last 5 seconds, but you can save teammates later in the game if you do enough damage.  i think i recorded my match from last night when i played CV.  i could upload it if you want, so you can see what it is like.

Thanks. No need to upload though, I'll just give it a try. Just armed with some basic facts, and wanting to help out, I'll probably not be as bad as many, even if Langley and Hosho are my only CVs. (I have played them before they nixed alt-attacks, so I at least know how they work)

Haven't tried part 2 yet - I'd gladly watch the replay. As far as playing a CV - only tried a couple of games way back in Beta. It's been on my to do list forever and can't seem to get around to it.

Just went to try for 5 stars in Part I and it's Div only now.. wth gives.

Any tips on Cpt skills or is it pretty standard?

That's standard. All ops are like that unless it's the "Operation of the Week".

My only "wth" is how the ships in part 2 have less main gun range than the part 1 ships, despite being more powerful lol.

A number of players don't seem to know what they're doing in the scenario. Even after you say in chat "DON'T GO INTO THE FILTH!", they sail full speed ahead into and die. Others, upon seeing an angry green cloud and realizing that it's not a "good thing", will survive for a while then die because they don't use their consumables (or use them strictly for themselves, not for the team thus ensuring defeat).

But the good news is most people learn quickly and it shouldn't be too long before you get a halfway decent team. I've almost managed to get 5 stars twice now. Four stars should be achievable, 3 stars should be relatively easy if your not on a potato team.

They probably are possessed by an evil spirit that doesn't want  you to win. It is a spooky map.

I mean, I get that they're trying to keep you up close and engaged, but it's kind of annoying.  The thing that annoyed me the most was that the BB, which is modeled after the Bismarck, only has 4.8km seconaries when upgraded which is actually less than the stock cruiser's secondaries lol.

Yeah, that's kind of weird. I have a secondary build for my CL, haven't tried it yet though.

I don't mind the short range though. It's not like the enemies give you much of a chance to fight any other way lol.

I just posted my question in a new topic. Thanks for Re.

I left well before OPs were introduced. I get it I suppose. But this is a time sensitive EVENT and should not have the same limiting factor. How does one even go about getting into a game if they're new or have been out of the loop forever...?

One of the amazing things I've noticed, is that on very rare occasions you get good team mates, if you stake two BB heals plus the CV heal at the same time, you can bring back team mates from the brink of death to near full hp again.

Had a match like that last night, got a little too far into the filth and was getting hammered by all kinds of enemies, my hp went down to like, sub 2k, but then I started getting healed by not only myself, but the two other BBs that popped thier and I THINK the CV popped his as well. Went from 1500 hp to about 96% rather quickly. I also used a combo of the shield as well to prevent from taking more damage and gain more hp back at the same time.

Remember people! Time those consumables right, and you can survive almost ANYTHING!
